As some of you may have (unfortunately) noticed… Dr. Paul Rubinstein has grown a moustache! We won’t pretend — it doesn’t look great. But he’s growing it for a fantastic cause: Movember, supporting men’s health, including testicular and prostate cancer, as well as overall mental and physical wellbeing.

Dr. Paul was inspired to participate after his friend Johnny was diagnosed with — and very thankfully successfully treated for — testicular cancer.

Bean is only 8 months old and already one of the friendliest little birds you could ever meet! This sweet, feathered friend loves interacting with everyone and absolutely stole our team's hearts during their visit. 😍

Just as our dogs and cats do, our avian companions benefit from regular veterinary exams to ensure they're healthy, happy, and thriving. Today, we pause to remember and honour the brave individuals who have served, sacrificed, and continue to serve for the freedoms we hold today. ❤️

Their courage, dedication, and strength will never be forgotten.

🐾 Nora's Dental Story 🐾

This beautiful golden girl, Nora, recently came in for an urgent dental procedure. According to her family, she was enthusiastically chasing her ball when she ran face-first into a shed… and in true Golden Retriever fashion, she picked the ball up and kept on playing like nothing happened! 😂💛

Even though she didn't show it, the impact caused both of her top incisors to fracture, exposing the pulp, which is painful and can lead to infection. So Nora needed dental care right away.

All of our dental procedures are done under general anesthesia to keep patients comfortable and safe. This allows us to:
• Maintain IV access for fluids and emergency medications if needed
• Use complete monitoring equipment throughout the procedure
• Take full dental radiographs and complete thorough charting
• Perform extractions safely and pain-free

Before any extractions, our Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs) administer dental nerve blocks to desensitize the area. This helps manage pain not only during the procedure, but also as Nora wakes up and recovers — keeping her as comfortable as possible. 💙

In Nora's case, the two fractured incisors were removed by the doctor. Her RVT then completed scaling and polishing and finished with an oral rinse, which helps reduce bacteria and support healthy healing. 🦷✨

We're happy to share that Nora did an incredible job under anesthesia and is recovering beautifully at home, still wagging, still smiling, and yes… still proud of her ball. 🎾💛
