☀️ Meet Sunny, a sweet Golden Retriever who visited the walk-in clinic for an upset tummy 💛

X-rays are an important diagnostic tool that help the veterinary team see what’s going on beneath the surface — from bones and joints to internal organs — helping with diagnosis and treatment planning.

Sunny was such a brave girl for her X-rays and even decided that the V-trough made a pretty comfy bed afterward! 🐾

🌟 Vet Tech Spotlight: Oksana! 🌟

Oksana earned her Master's in Veterinary Medicine from Luhansk National Agrarian University in Ukraine and is now working toward building her veterinary career here in Canada. Her dedication to her profession is truly inspiring, and we feel so fortunate to have her on our team.

Oksana is the kind of team member who goes above and beyond. She's always eager to help, anticipating what's needed before anyone asks. Whether assisting with patient care, supporting her fellow team members, or providing a comforting presence to our clients and their pets, Oksana does it all with kindness, patience, and a smile.

Her compassion and attention to detail shine through in everything she does. Every patient she cares for receives her full attention, ensuring they are safe, comfortable, and well-loved. Her work ethic, warmth, and positivity make her invaluable to our team.

Here are a few extra memories from Vet Tech Week 2025! 💚

Everyone was treated to their own personalized Stanley, a fun piñata, and of course some much-needed Domino’s to wrap up the week and fuel our emergency on call shift! 🍕

Our techs work hard every single day to make sure every patient gets the care they deserve. All while lifting each other up and keeping the good energy flowing!

Mackenzie recently graduated from the C**A Veterinary Technology program and officially passed her VTNE last week! A huge milestone in her career that we're all celebrating! 🎓👏

Since joining our team, Mackenzie has proven herself to be an incredible addition. She's skilled in the laboratory, where she truly shines, and her attention to detail helps ensure accurate results for our patients. Mackenzie also excels in surgery, where her calm, focused approach and strong technical skills make her an asset to the team.

Beyond her technical strengths, Mackenzie's compassionate care stands out the most. She takes the time to make each patient feel safe and comfortable during their stay, treating them as if they were her own. 🐾

🎃👻 Halloween is just around the corner! 👻🎃

At Paradise Animal Hospital & Wellness Centre, we want to help keep your pets safe during this spooky season. 🐾✨

Here are some tips for a safe and happy Halloween:
🕸️ Decorate safely – Costumes and decorations can be spooky for pets! Be sure to secure cords and decorations to avoid accidents.
🚪 Trick-or-treating time – Loud knocks and costumes can be scary! Set up a quiet, relaxing space away from windows and entrances.
🍬 Keep candy away – Sugar can cause illness in pets. Chocolate and xylitol are toxic, and candy wrappers can be dangerous, too.

A little preparation goes a long way to ensure your furry friends enjoy Halloween just as much as you do! 🐶🐱💜

Bonita has been in the veterinary field for an amazing 30 years, and her dedication, passion, and energy continue to inspire everyone around her. She brings such a positive presence to the clinic and is always full of laughter, encouragement, and great ideas. Whether she's helping a nervous patient feel calm, supporting a client through a tough moment, or jumping in to lend a hand to a teammate, Bonita gives 110% in everything she does.

She's constantly looking for ways to improve hospital processes, strengthen teamwork, and enhance the quality of care we provide. Bonita is also an incredible mentor. Guiding her fellow technicians toward their goals and ensuring everyone is being used to their full potential.

We're thrilled to shine the spotlight on Charlie, one of our fantastic student Veterinary Technicians currently completing the Veterinary Technology program at C**A! Charlie has quickly become an invaluable part of our team here at Paradise Animal Hospital & Wellness Centre.

Charlie is exceptional when it comes to bandages—both in skill and creativity! If your pet has ever left our clinic sporting a little bandage art, chances are it was Charlie's handiwork. 🐾 But it's not just about style—Charlie is also incredibly skilled with blood draws and other procedures, showing a calm, confident, and compassionate approach with every patient.

With 30 years of experience in veterinary medicine, Amanda has been an invaluable asset to our team and a guiding light for our newer techs. She dedicates herself to training and mentoring, ensuring that every team member has the support and knowledge they need to grow and excel in their careers.

Amanda's skills are incredible. She shines in wellness appointments, administering vaccines, prepping patients for surgeries, and assisting in emergency care.

Her expertise goes beyond technical skills; she is always ready to lend a helping hand, answer questions, and share her deep knowledge with her colleagues. Amanda's dedication, compassion, and professionalism make her an essential part of the PAH Team.
