The Garlic Keeper & Nina's Homegrown Horseradish Sauce

The Garlic Keeper & Nina's Homegrown Horseradish Sauce Locally Grown Hardneck Garlic and Homemade Preservative Free Horseradish sauce. Unique Garlic Keeper Pottery. Wow! Its a hit!

Beginning in the fall of 2013 I planted my first patch of hardneck garlic from stock sent to me from family in Ontario. After patiently waiting till the following August in 2014, I harvested my first crop of over 300 heads in 8 different varieties. Nothing could compare to the juicy sharp bite of this garlic once it had properly cured and I knew I had to grow more. That year I increased my patch t

o over 1000 heads with several more varieties and brought my harvest to the Stony Plain Farmers Market in Fall 2015! During this time I have also started growing and producing a fresh frozen Preservative Free Horseradish Sauce. Each year I have increased my root stock all over our property and in fall of 2014 offered my sauce to the public. This years crop of Garlic has hit over 9000+ heads in the ground and I have expanded to St.Albert Farmers Market on Saturdays & Collingwood Farmers Market on Sundays. I will often host open shop days at the farm while Im preparing the garlic for the market at the end of August so stay tuned to learn when you can come visit! Get it while you can because the harvest season doesn't last long!

August 2018

So I thought it might be nice to update my Story :) I am in the middle of curing/cleaning/packaging time here at the Farm after bringing in a crop of 15,000 heads this year! Wow! We have seen some incredible results with several varieties sizing up nicely to their fullest potential and this year I have been able to offer Jumbo Seed Stock of several varieties such as Russian Red, New Oxley Music, Bloodnick Carpathian, Chesnok Red & Spanish Roja. We are expanding yet again to 20,000 plants this fall and hopefully up to 30,000 in two more years! Along with the Hardneck Garlic I am now also producing Black Garlic year round and if you are a garlic lover you will love this! Special machines hold a temperature of 140 for 12 days, turning ordinary heads into sweet savoury black garlic that will add a special flair to your next dish or appetizer. I have also created several new flavours of Pepper Jellies this year with interesting combinations of fruits & spices to awaken your tastebuds such as Rhubarb Kashmiri Chilli Pepper Jelly, Thai Mango Red Curry Pepper Jelly & Blackberry Bourbon Pepper Jelly to name a few. I will still be at the St.Albert Farmers Market on Saturdays & Callingwood Farmers Market in Edmonton on Sundays starting on September Long weekend thru till Thanksgiving Long weekend. Feel free to contact me for more information on any of my products. I hope to see you soon!
