If you "purchased" your dog from a breeder then you chose that breed. You had better acknowledge and accept certain traits and update your education on how to meet their needs. Also you bought them, therefore you are their owner not this bu****it term "pawrent" or "guardian" , with that means you need to own their behavior and decisions because if they make poor choices you have not educated them on the correct ones. Hold yourself accountable to make them better.

CLOSED SUNDAYS. To all clients previous and future. I try to accommodate your questions, concerns, want for updates and check ins on your dog. I have a family that requires my time and attention and the day that is reserved for them is Sunday. So if i do not respond or communicate with you on that day do not take offense. There may be a trainer out there that will give you access to them any time you need it, I am not that trainer and understand if I am not good fit because of it. Enjoy your family on this long weekend, Happy training.

Sasha is a previous board and train. She is back just for boarding. Her mom wants her to continue on to advanced obedience. When she first came to us i was afraid to drop the leash as she was a flight risk. Awesome to see what she is looking like with her parents continuing to put in the hardwork.

Easton Has been with us for 10 days now. His heeling is coming along, almost ready to start going on school trips out and about. We have also started working some of his swing into heel positions through luring with food and cueing with body positioning.

This is Hendrix. He is a previous board and train for on leash obedience. He is staying with us for a few days and we have been having fun working off leash because of his owners commitment to the process.

One of the benefits for our board and train clients is bringing their dogs back for boarding when they need to travel or need a weekend away. As you can see Hendrix is pumped to be back and to be able to eat all the icicles.

Sometimes when your training you gotta take a break and let a snow seal be a snow seal.

Trying to help out my neighbours dog to reduce her stress. My neighbour is elderly and thus she is unable to do much with her dog aside from a loving companion inside the house. This little girl is lacking confidence and wouldn't come within 10 feet of me at first without barking and retreating.

With my neighbors blessing i went and got Odin and approached with him and put him in a sit stay and had a conversation with my neighbor and completely ignored her dog. It started with me heavily feeding him making him "touch" and "sit" for rewards. It didnt take long before her concerns lessoned, her interest peaked and she took a step towards us. I threw food on the ground to start and then eventually slowly bent down and this was the result of about 5 minutes of thoughtful engagement. We left it at that ,then and went on our way without being barked at which is usually the response we get from this little girl.

Always amazed how fast dogs can help each other when paired with the right personality traits. Obedience helps these introductions.

If your looking to start to get a heel on your dog here is a foundational exercise.
Few points
-keep sessions short
-once they get the rhythm start pairing the command
-slowly increase the criteria
- fade from the lure to a 1-1 reward when they show good engagement in the exercise
-pair the command during luring
-keep the distance traveled short for a reward
-low stimulus environment
The heel is the most important command for getting out into the world and enjoying your dog on leash.
Give us a shout and let us help you get your dog heeling next to you in a few short weeks.

A little fun in the snow. Remy needing extra encouragement from mom as tugging is usually an unwanted behavior. We only got 3 good runs out of her and ended the session as I like to not get to greedy when teaching a new activity.
In other words if your looking to create a game or teach a complex skill try rewarding for being close to what you want and then raising your criteria each session. I also heavily rewarded her with praise and food to cement to her that this is a fun game.
You can notice her apprehension in the beginning Jess intuitively grabs her harness to encourage her. Sometimes just getting our dog moving in situations even though they aren't "interested" we can have the effect of the kid that didn't want to go to camp and comes home ecstatic after the day because his parents pushed him to go.
Anyways Happy New Year and keep having fun with your dogs.

Final days hanging with Sasha our last board and train before the new year. We are rewarding her basic obedience with play to build a new extra command for her owners.

Two dogs that can be reactive on leash for different reasons. Hendrix being a past student is a great help to his new roommate for the weekend.

Four dogs , Four different requirements of engagement , Four different training levels. Play, Food, Praise and Affection are what build these behaviors. We are here to help owners with obedience in a way that can be taken into a constantly evolving world that our dogs interact with.

This is the first session with these two big girls. One is reactive to intense dogs and one doesn't care for other females. You will see a slight correction being implemented in this video when Remy(white dogo) fans out of heel position. You will also see constant positive reinforcement through praise and treats. We want to help owners overcome those difficult day to day engagements by creating comfort and safety in obedience the influence

Hendrix is 2 1/2 weeks into his 4 week board and train. He had some reactive outbursts towards other dogs and wanted to snack on chickens when he got here. We are working place command and down stays with some pretty heavy impulse control on his part. Those are chunks of beef hotdogs for his training that he is ignoring as the chickens grab them. I was sure to positively reward him handsomely for the effort for resisting both food and prey items.

This video is an example of a balanced training approach for ecollar work. I am luring by having my hand where treats usually are. Operant conditioning, and classic conditioning are at work by having an e-collar on.

It is classically conditioned through being rewarded every time the collar goes on creating excitement to go out and train. The operant side of things is by building context through systematically pairing it at a low level during obedience so that eventually it can be used in instances where you need to call your dog into obedience. Allowing you to issues corrections if needed whilst also rewarding the good behaviours.

This takes time and is built by slowly ramping up the stimulus exposure with duration intesity and proximity to something your dog would usually break obedience to access. As you can see I don’t have the ecollar remote in my hand because I want you to understand that this is not just some cruel tool that people can sensationalize that will claim im just “shocking” him into submission, it is a tool and can work to allow your dog more freedom of access on hikes and walks.

This is my personal dog and his journey of training is for the entirety of his life as I also advise my clients. We believe in our systems so much so that if your dog goes through our Board and Train programs you get free maintenance training for the life of your dog. Essentially you have a dog trainer on retainer, this is an artform working with dogs and our love of them drive our passion to help people that are at the end of their leash. Also I included the photo of odin helping mom with controlling pest for her organic farm to highlight he does have prey drive and is not just a low drive couch potato.

This is our current board and train Hendrix. He is a joyful little boy that needs some obedience to deal with his intense desire to meet other dogs. One thing i find with almost all dogs is that a warm fire with a bed near it puts them in a calm state almost like its tied into there genetics from when we first habituated them to humans with a little warmth, love, and a full belly.
