However, please transition gradually, rather than all at once. Slowly mixing the new food with the old over 7–10 days will help prevent digestive upset and ensure a smooth adjustment for your pet. Remember to avoid grain free 🌾 If you need help navigating food choices, check for AAFCO approved.

‼️ We had an experience last week that reminded us that we're only human. It's important you know that at FBVS, we are committed to providing compassionate care for your pets and a respectful environment for our staff. Veterinary medicine has one of the highest rates of burnout and mental health challenges, with client abuse being one of the factors. That being said, we prioritize the well-being of our team.

We have a zero-tolerance policy for swearing, abusive language, or disrespectful behavior toward our staff. If this policy is violated, we reserve the right to terminate the client relationship, and your pet’s records will be transferred to another clinic of your choice.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in fostering a positive and supportive environment for everyone. We all deserve safety in the work place 💖🙏🏼🐾

Last week we had the pleasure of helping Foster Kritters Feral Cat Rescue - Society. We had 19 kitties of varying spice levels and oh boy was it an adventure 💖
We are so proud to be a part of each and every one of these rescue stories and we are SO grateful for such a lovely rescue partner. Keep up the amazing work Foster Kritters 🐾💕

We hope everyone has a fun and safe evening. Here are a few tips on how to keep your pets safe:

We recommend keeping cats inside to stop them from getting spooked or accidentally harmed throughout the evening. 🐈‍⬛

Fireworks can be scary to pets! If your fur child dislikes loud noises, keeping them calm in a dark, quiet room might make the night easier. 🎆

Make sure to share to ensure everyone can keep their pets safe 💕🐾

It sure feels like Christmas came early for us 🎅 Our wonderful rescue partners Catspan Ferals Registered Charity on VI and CatNap Society have brought us a wonderful load of items to help replenish our pet food bank 💕🐾 Thank you from the bottom of our hearts 💖

Dr. Courtenay and her littlest Chase had a great time supporting Fantastic Beasts Veterinary Services at their open house over the weekend! Parksville is sure blessed to have their Pawsitive Care program and we can't thank them enough for accepting our clients for spay and neuter services!

Reminder that we do not have a December clinic but look forward to seeing you all January 16th for our next one!

A HUGE thank you to Northern Hope Dog Rescue Society for their donation. Our Pawsitive Care food bank was quite bare and now boasts full shelves of canned food, Christmas goodies, coats and more for dogs in need in our community 😭🐾💕🥰
The shared vision of helping those in need just keeps flowing and we can't describe how incredibly grateful we are 🫶🏽🙌🏾🙏🏻🐕🐶
Note - Our staff aren't able to give consistent updates on what's available in our food bank on an ongoing basis, but we'll do our very best to update in stories as often as we can to keep you posted 💓☃️

We are often told "Your staff seems like they genuinely want to be here". There’s a reason for that - we love coming to work everyday because we genuinely believe in what we’re doing!
