We were able to be a part of Augies story and we are hoping for a Christmas miracle for this beautiful man 🙏🏽✨️🎄

Sweet Augie is tucked in and ready to dream of his furever home just in time for the holidays! ❄️

Starting tomorrow, Dec 1 until Dec 14, the BC SPCA will have all adoptions half price to help find more pets a loving home for the holiday, and make space in the shelters for more to be saved.

There are SO many reasons we are loving our partnership with Fantastic Beasts Veterinary Services and this image shows one of them. Clinic settings can be very busy and there isn't always going to be veterinary staff available when someone needs an extra snuggle. However, they ensure the sibling groups can recover together when they are safe to do so. This helps these anxious wee ones settle so much faster 💗🐾

We were able to assist this Ziggy's Rescue - Canada puppy with this painful mange. She's gone from nearly her whole body to a localized spot on her head! Can you imagine how much relief she must feel? 💕🐾🐕

Thank you SO much to the community for being so excited and curious about our fledgling society 😀
We met so many incredible people and their beloved pets today ❤️ 🐾 We trimmed nails and offered flea treatments on the pups thanks to the help of Fantastic Beasts Veterinary Services .
We hope everyone enjoys the rest of their long weekend. Our volunteers are going to have a much needed rest and we'll be back sharing more very soon so stay tuned 🐕🐕‍🦺

Our rescue partners at the SPCA Alberni-Clayoquot location have this beautiful snake up for adoption. Isn't he magnificent...
"Corny Boi came into our care as a stray found in someones front garden, we actually don’t know if he’s a boy or a girl, but Corny Boi suits him!

Because he came in as a stray we’re also guessing his age. He is in a foster home with one of our staff members who has some experience with snakes. They believe Corny Boi isn’t young due to his size, but seems to be a tad skinny for his size and when stretched out, he can reach just over 3 feet.

We have been in touch with a vet in regards to any health concerns we should have, they believe other than being a bit under weight, he seems happy and healthy!"

Recently, Catspan Ferals Registered Charity rescued a very pregnant mother from an RV park. She was living outdoors and infested with fleas.
Herself, along with her wee ones (Pictured here), will be some of our very first patients we help get care for! From Spaying, Neutering, parasite control and vaccines. We'll ensure their mom and them get everything they need to be healthy.
When that happens...guess what that means??? They'll be ready for adoption and that's 4 less felines suffering 🐾💕

"Timmy was diagnosed with diabetes when he came into care. Following daily insulin injections, weight loss and a special diet, he has gone into complete remission of the diabetes and no longer requires insulin. His diet is canned paté style wet food only (due to the low carbohydrate content) and he should remain on this to manage his weight and condition. Brand information and daily calorie requirements will be provided to the adopters."

A sweet rescue from Ziggy's Rescue - Canada. This is Mooney. She was rescued from poor out door living conditions a few provinces over. This mama pup has experienced a lot of trauma and fosters have learned she'll need a very special home for her to have a successful adoption. She is prey driven, so needs to have a home with acreage for her to run and needs a farm “job” to give her purpose. Someone who has time to devote to her training, she doesn’t do well left alone and needs to be shown consistent love so that she can find normalcy in her new home. It is heart wrenching when they have to learn what love and a caring hand is, but we know there's someone out there that will be her perfect person 💕🐕

🐈‍⬛ A HUGE part of being successful as a rescue, is finding Veterinarians to work with. Ones that share your values and passions 👇🏽
Aurora (Pictured here) was struggling for months. She had the most severe gastrointestinal issues anyone had ever seen. Not to gross anyone out...but the reality is she was literally leaking everywhere. No control and a very inflamed sore b***y. This may not seem like a big deal...but diarrhea for a kitten is no joke. They go downhill fast, due to dehydration. This particular gastrointestinal issue wasn't responding to treatments. She had stopped acting like a normal kitten and had started to only want cuddles as she was in too much pain to play with her siblings. This broke foster moms heart 💔 She started to think about quality of life for our sweet girl. We spoke to Dr. Beal and asked her what was next. We had done tests, 3 rounds of meds, all the tricks and multiple rounds of fluids already!
Dr. Beal directed our foster to bring her in again. She once again received IV fluids. Then Dr. Beal brought Aurora HOME with her. This angel of a vet brought Aurora home with her and treated her for months 🤯 She was determined to help our sweet Aurora. Her passion for such a stubborn case was so touching to see 😭. We are over the moon to report that Dr. Beal aka the Founder of Island Rescue Veterinary Society successfully brought Aurora to full recovery AND ended up officially adopting her 😍
We can't thank her enough for all that she and her associates are doing with this new society 💕✨️🐈‍⬛ We look forward to this partnership and know it will be nothing short of a miracle for all the animals this group will be able to help.

Spring babies everywhere....If you find a nest of wild bunnies, don’t touch it!!! If your cat brings home a single baby, and it is not injured- release it and keep your cat inside so it can find its way 🐇
