From loose leash walking to recall, brain games to mastering "place," Pippa tackled it all with enthusiasm and determination. 🐶💪
But what truly shines about Pippa is her newfound confidence and growth. She's transformed into a well-rounded pup, ready to take on the world alongside her loving family. ❤️ Though we miss her dearly, we're thrilled to know that she's now able to enjoy life comfortably at home, armed with the skills and knowledge she's gained during her stay.
Pippa, you're a shining example of what dedication and hard work can achieve, and we're so grateful to have been a part of your journey. We'll miss your wagging tail and eager spirit, but we know you're off to do great things with your family by your side. 🐾💕

Today was a BIG day! 🔥
Everyone meet Eddie.. Eddie came to us with severe human and dog aggression. The owner couldn’t walk him publicly, and was worried for everyone’s safety.
Today, after a few months of consistency in private sessions, not only did Eddie get to learn to be running freely on a long line, he also walked parksville beach board walk in heel past multiple dogs and people, AND officially allowed head trainer Alishia Adams to pet him all over. He even popped up off kisses!
This was a very emotional moment for both trainer and owner as it shows what dedication and trust in a program can do. Eddie’s mom took trust in our process, and our method choice, and is now reaping the benefits of a social dog as he continues to surprise her everyday.
Way to go Eddie! We are soooo proud of you 🥹♥️

Having a structured daycare program allows our dogs to have a safe and fun environment, with a great combination of play time & down time!
We make custom play groups so your pups are well suited to their playmates and we provide adequate down time to ensure your pup wont get stressed out and overstimulated! ❤️🐾
Have a pup with endless energy? Or looking for your pup to loose some weight? Have them come try our slatmill!
In daycare we do take the dogs on pack walks and they have playtime, but if your dog could still use additional exercise you can add the slatmill to your daycare services!

‼️ ECOLLAR WEANING‼️
One of the biggest things we explain in our training is that an ECollar is a tool that helps the dogs brain process cues without being physically harsh (example: pulling around on a flat collar, snapping the neck with a halti, dogs lunging and the pressure of a harness damaging shoulders and ribs etc) on the dog.
Here we have Doyle, his owner has been SOOO consistent in their training and sessions over a 6 month period (some sessions being 3 weeks apart due to her work) so on Friday we began our weaning process. If you watch in the video we have a beautiful heel passing dogs and people, a relaxed dog able to consume food (not shut down,) and zero reactivity. Doyle began this process human and dog reactive on leash, which then turned into redirecting bites onto his handler.
Our process has been extremely detailed including removing any luring and using distance markers to place Doyle in a proper spot in the heel. This helping his redirecting issues and solidifying his job on our walk. The ECollar is placed in the owners hand as we took it on and off sporadically during this session to generate a thought process of ECollar and no ECollar for Doyle with his triggers still present.
This process takes time, your dog takes time, but here we believe we truly can achieve anything and Doyle is proof of that ♥️
Success story incoming! Loki first came to us with severe reactivity towards other dogs. He started with a board and train program, and is now a regular at daycare! We love seeing dogs like Loki happy, thriving and making new friends 🫶🏼

We are so proud of Denise! She received her pups back from us via a board and train program to help Rosie’s aggression on and off leash to dogs, and Blues pulling and barking with mom.
She not only listened and implemented everything we did and taught her but she came to her follow up session ready to make sure she was on the right path ♥️

This is a before and after, you see we wear protective gear to see the trigger and bite timing to better understand the grey areas to address for the dogs reactivity. In the following clip is a week (7 days) into our 2 week program.

The promises I make as a trainer..
In the last 7-8 years I’ve been involved in my training journey I’ve learned a lot. But most of which is things about myself, and the industry, that I feel need to be touched on. I hold myself very accountable in these following things..
- I refuse to ever harass, or belittle, other trainers. This is online or offline, I believe in trainers learning off each other and growing together. Which is where I am honoured to have trainers from other areas of the island trust in me with their dogs and we learn from each other on this journey.
- I will never belittle my clients for going another direction if they feel my method is not for them. It is YOUR pet and YOU have the right to decide what suits you both. I’ll cheer you on from a distance anywhere you go ♥️
- I will always adjust to suit the case at hand. No two dogs are exactly the same, nor will train the same. Staying focused, and using all tools I’ve learned in this industry is key.
- And lastly, your dogs health is key. If you feel lost in an allergic reaction, your pup is showing signs of being sick, or I feel a need for training to be moved due to any above health reason, please know it’s these traits I’ll look at. Your pups health being top notch relays into how they take to training, and therefore is #1.
I have a lot more I devote to but I feel the need lately to express these as the industry of dog training becomes more of a social experiment then what it was before.. about helping dogs.
So to all my clients and competition past, present, and future, know I’m cheering you on. Even if you aren’t with me ♥️

Loki the Rottweiler came to us with leash reactivity to dogs, vehicles, and some humans.
Loki’s owner also had issues on focus, which we’ve got a nice foundation on, for only a few days into our board and train program 😊 Clearly others at Rathtrevor agreed with lots of compliments caught in this video 🙈♥️
