After 9 amazing years with EPL, Shelley is retiring. Today is her last day with us. We hope she takes some time to enjoy some new adventures and maybe even take a break! We will miss her so much but we are thrilled that she is moving into this next phase of her life.

Sativa is looking for her forever home. She is the sweetest dog who warms your heart. She’s a 7-year-old German Shepherd. She weighs approximately 78 pounds. Sativa is currently living with her loving couple. She has been with them for 2.5 years. Due to the couple’s health issues, Sativa needs to find her forever permanent home.
Sativa loves everyone. She is a very relaxed calm girl. She loves her walks and going to the park. She’s great on leash and wants to play with all the dogs. She will run towards dogs hoping to meet and play with them. She barks when doing this. She is definitely not aggressive. She loves to play, be cuddled and brushed. She’s come a long way in the time the fosters have had her. She listens well to commands and follows her mom around. It is not known how Sativa is with recall, so she is kept on leash during walks. She walks well and calmly. Perhaps a halti helps. She is very loyal to her people, so likely won’t leave them if she got loose. Sativa is crate trained and sleeps in her crate nightly.
She is healthy and is current on all vaccinations. She is spayed and not on any medications. We have all Sativa’s vet paperwork. Sativa seems to adapt well to new situations.
Sativa needs someone who can take her on long walks and love her to bits. She also needs someone who is home as she is not used to be left alone for more than 4 hours at a time. She is completely house trained and can hold her bladder for lengthy periods.
Sativa doesn’t tend to bark unless excited when she sees other dogs at the park. She’s not a barker when at home. Sativa has proven she can’t be around cats. She tends to chase them. We don’t believe she would hurt a cat, but can’t be sure. She does chase bunnies around the yard, but of course never catches them. It’s all a game to her.
Sativa needs a fenced in yard where she can play and be outdoors. This fantastic dog would be best suited in a household where she can get exercise, stimulation, attention and love. She also needs someone who can cope with a larger sized dog.
This dog caught my heart. She’s so loveable and gets along with everyone. Sativa was just in 2 weeks with a foster and the foster has nothing but wonderful things to say about her. She was so easy to take care of. Laid beside her and was behaved well. She is so loveable and warm. If you’re interested in adopting Sativa, please contact Debbie Kandert at [email protected]
