Meet Dr. Petra Kos Harms (with sweet little Lola, being snuggled at her vaccination appointment). Dr. Kos Harms joined us in May, after several years in emergency medicine in Victoria. We’re thrilled to have her as part of the Bellevue team!

Luna overdid it on ground apples which upset her tummy. So she had to come in for a workup, which included her being a very good girl for everything, including her X-rays. (Don’t worry. Our tech & assistant are right there with her. 😊)

Animals have feelings! We now know this! (To some it might seem obvious.) This year for Animal Health Week, the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association encouraged public awareness of "animal sentience". In the past, most humans believed that animals didn't have emotions or thoughts ... we now know this is incorrect.

October is Registered Veterinary Technician month!
Our RVTs bring our team an extensive knowledge and play an essential part of our team. They are educated in dozens of areas within veterinary medicine from dentistry, anesthesia, nutrition, radiology and so much more.

There are ever expanding opportunities for RVTs. We look forward to supporting them and recognizing their professional growth and increasing awareness of their integral role.

Bellevue RVTs also provide technician appointments (almost daily) for a variety of things our patients need like blood collection, bandage changes, injections, nail trims, a**l glands, some vaccinations, and so much more.

We would like to recognize them this month for being amazing RVTs!

Rabies vaccination of dogs and cats saves lives. We have rabid bats in our area occasionally (🤔almost every summer), and so, it's possible for your pet to contract this deadly virus. Yesterday, Sept 28, was World Rabies Day (but we're just catching up).
