On another mor positive note.
We are boarding merlin.
Merlin can be a very quirky boy and is full of crazy fun.
This guy gets to experience grooming on the other side. So, instead of being groomed, he gets to aid the groomer. He has deffinatly brought some smiles. He is unsure what to think about this experience.
I don't think I will be offering him a job though. Whenever it's time to bathe a dog, he walks the opposite direction and stares out the window. (I'm considering this a smoke break), and he won't trim the nails at all. Brushing is also a no-go. Clean up he thinks if he just lays on the mess, then it's "gone."
He doesn't seem to have a problem with trash talking. Maybe he can be the manager of the complaint department (which i am happy to say we don't get very many of those).

If you are interested in our boarding services. You must already be an existing grooming client. The reason is because your dog knows me well at that point knows the home and has met my dogs at one point or another. I know they will be comfortable.

This is the second day back at work and it's been extreamly hard.
Hard to find the energy, hard to not break right out in tears. Hard to accept compassion from all you amazing clients. Sokkas loss is deffinatly felt by client dogs as well as the pure emptiness in this salon.

I appreciate all of you, but most of all the ones who have been exceptionally understanding with this loss.
Layla was drawn to giving all the comfort hugs she could today which stretched their appointment time by a hour longer than normal cause I kept breaking down and she was right there with another hug.
Which just created this vicious cycle of crying. And I can't exactly see what I'm doing with watery eyes and hair sticking to my wet face.

I'm trying to keep personal and work seperate but it's extreamly hard. Sokka was apart of every aspect of my life that I could get him into. He made friends with Layla.

This loss is gonna be a while to process a while to accept and a while to figuare out how to move forward.

I appreciate again. All of you for the kind words but most of all the paitence and understanding. That means so much as I will greatly need that while I basically relearn to live this life.

And just like that, my heart has been ripped out of my chest. I have done nothing but fall apart.

Tuesday, Jan 14th, sokka took his last breath. He left this world with a full belly and surrounded by love. Unfortunately, he took my heart with him, and I am devastated. This dog is my world, and it just came crashing down. This pain is so much worse than I could have ever imagined it to be. My sweet angel is gone, and that's it. Today, I started my day without him, and it sucked.

I don't know how to grieve this or go on without him. So, I ask for patience and grace as I learn to do this. This loss is far worse than I could have ever thought, and absolutely nothing ever prepared me for this. It's so much worse. I appreciate all the time, words, and advice everyone has given and continue to give.

I look like I was run over by a truck.. but this emotional trauma of losing my best friend has also cause a feeling like my guts have been ripped out.

I will try to refrain from crying. However, due to having sokka around the salon with me all the time, he formed friendships with your dogs, and that is going to be hard, too. That said, this doesn't mean I don't want to see your dogs because I do, and I believe that they will help me through this too.

Sokka was my most favorite hello and my hardest goodbye. The dog who started it all.. and one of the biggest reasons I became a groomer. I will forever miss you, and I will cherish your memory. My sweet baby.

Well, things are not looking so good.

Yesterday, we went to the vet and got some not so great news.
We were sent home, and since being sent home, things have gotten worse. The vet wants to continue with meds for 5 days. However, if there is no improvement, our next vet visit will be our last.

I'll be honest I'm struggling a lot with this. We just got some photos done. We watched a beautiful sunset. I don't think he is going to make the 5 days, and I am worried we won't see improvement.

Over this time, I may have to reschedule a few appointments, and appointment times may vary more than normal.

I am asking for grace over this time period. It is important to remember that I am working on a live animal, and I can't work on an animal if I am not mentally strong enough to do so. I know my limits and would never put your animal through harms way. So this could result in a cancelation while I work through my emotions or a longer appointment time.
Grief is a weird thing and comes and goes as it pleases.
Your understanding and patience during this difficult time are greatly appreciated.

I absolutely love this right here. Charlie came in today to have a bath and smell good for her Christmas pawty with the family. However, this girl is only 7 months old and was a little scared of the dryer. So I did what I do best and worked my magic. We spent time desensitizing and bonding. Lots and lots of bonding. while she rested, we bonded, and when we tried the dryer again, we did so with so much success behind us.
And that's what let to this photo. This photo is trust and peach. She happily accepted treats and belly rubs LOTS Of belly rubs. Honestly, I couldn't have asked for a better outcome, given it being her first time and older.

Charlie will require some proper routine to overcome this fear she has with the dryer, but what a sweet girl she is. Thanks for the trust, Charlie. Can't wait to see you again!

Did you know we offer boarding?
Specifically to clients who are already existing clients. The reason for this is that the dogs already know me as their hair dresser and treat lady. But also because they have already met my personal dogs at some point, even if it's just a pass through to go to the bathroom.

Our rates are exceptionally cheap, with 30 for the day and 45 for overnight stays. Flat rate.

The dogs that stay with us have never complained as we offer a vacation away from home, too. But in a much more cozy environment than that of a kennel. We have an amazing property to use for all the excersize and outdoor stimulation they need. A home away from home.

We specialize in dealing with nervouse or reactive dogs and happily take on dogs that have been denied services from other grooming salons.

For those unaware.
This is sokka..
This dog is my soul mate, best friend, and life all wrapped up into this amazing dog.
Unfortunately, we have recently discovered that he has cancer. My whole world is shaken.
So I'm emotional even when I try to keep them in check. I will ask as we go through this that patience is given. There are times I will come off as cross - or short tempered or upset. None of this emotion has anything to do with anyone, and I will do my best to keep things in check.
This, for me, is the equivalent of losing a child. Regardless of what some may believe this right here, is my son, and this is extremely tragic for our little family.
I appreciate the kind words and understanding from so many already, and I love the support some have shown. We are fighting this just as hard as it's attacking him.
But we can only do our best and only do so much. The vet gave us a month. (I think he's just trying to give me one last Christmas with him.)
Thank you all for your understanding. I appreciate all of it, the love and support over this time.

This is Miss Izzy. Who has gone from scruffies to fluffies. Don't like this look fool you. No matter how many times I tell her, my fingers are NOT chicken fingers. She still has to try every now n again to just see. Izzy is one of my behavioral cases, and the first time I groomed her was at the clinic. Apparently, they were all new of her little sassy pants and were absolutely astonished. I still had fingers after grooming her. Izzy is a wonderful girl but has a little overconfidence issue that is being addressed. As she learns her role in being groomed, this can also aid in her behavior at the vets as well. Since she is getting used to being checked over, she looked at and limbs manipulated.
I guess it's true what they say it's not about the size of the dog but the fight inside the dog. I'm just grateful she can't overpower me in any way. 🤣

Sweet old man, chucky! He is 13 and doesn't put up with a lot of anything. He can be very particular in his old age and has a snappy attitude, lol. Trying to reason with him seems futile at times. so he gets an
as good as I can get it done hair cut to not sacrifice anymore of his comfort and get him out quickly. It's an odd thing cause he actually feels good when he is all done being groomed.

On another note we are going to be offering Christmas photos for clients this year. It will be like you see now however if you want a copy we can do this without the logo and without the name. And it will be a nice Christmas photo you can have of your dog.
The price for this will be 5 dollars

Sweet coco is all dolled up and looking fabulous. Coco was a nervous dog, and although she still has some anxieties about grooming, she has come a long way from where she once was. Including wagging tails when walking into the salon. We have strived to ensure she is most comfortable, and since moving the business to the house, we are able to accommodate not only the quiet environment she so desperately needs but also the time she deserves to feel comfortable and complete.

Here is Macey!
This girl is a very temperamental one. And her momma understands this and brings her to me to continue to build a good relationship and I can confidently say after (3?) Years of HARD work it is paying off. Macey used to just attack for things with grooming and now she actually communicates. Macey has come a long way from where we were once at.

Macey used to come as instructed but it's not feasible anymore. Since her momma decided to move to Huntsville. However even in the move to Huntsville she will drive Macey a whole hour to come be groomed by us to continue to build a good relationship. Macey I am not sure she will ever be perfect for grooming. But I have not lost hope. She is a real sweet girl but spaw days for her are a personal hell. However she needs to be groomed and having a groomer who will take the time and work with her not against is what is going to make all the difference in the world for this dog.

Thank you so much for entrusting me with your precious girl. I thank the people greatly who taught me about dog body language and how to as for consent. I thank them for changing my grooming career forever and for the better.

I will never give up on you Macey and I am so proud of you for the accomplishment we have made this far.
