Clients: “your dogs must look immaculate all of the time”
Me: “ 😬”
It’s the stick stuck in the ear hair for me 😆
I seen this video and it absolutely disgusted me. This groomer was showing people what grooming a senior pet looks like. Absolutely not. It should absolutely NOT look like this. Extra care, time, and thought should be put into a senior pets groom. If they don’t have appropriate equipment to help or another person to assist they should be referring you to someone who does.
Tyler is a huge help when it comes to senior pets which is why I take every effort to book senior pets while he’s here. This is foster, he’s 14 years young with hip issues that affect his balance. He lays down for almost his entire groom for his comfort. When I need to wash and rinse the areas he’s laying on Tyler helps hold and support him, taking all of his weight off of his joints. Same for the dry and a quick bum trim to help keep him sanitary. Don’t be afraid to ask your groomer what extra care if being provided for your senior pets groom.

For my people who say “they don’t feel as nice when I bath them at home”
If you don’t hear the squeak they’re not clean!
Shampoo them again until squeaky clean. As always, don’t forget to follow with a conditioner.
New year, same me never posting pictures 😂
We are enjoying our last full day in Mexico. I will be answering peoples messages all day Monday
I’m so proud of how far Gus has come with his nail trim appointments. His first couple of visits he was jumping all around acting crazy giving warning bites. (I believe his vet recommended he come here but don’t quote me) This is proof you cannot treat every dog the same. Most dogs you want to keep calm and relaxed. Gus is much happier and willing to learn through play and praise so I rev him up, followed by a quick post nail trim play session.
(Dont mind my warm fuzzies, our furnace isn’t currently working *don’t worry replacement part is on its way* )
Wolfie was so brave for his first ever trip to a groom salon. I didn’t want to have to take him too short because of winter, so where he had heavy matting is shorter than other places. But he’s comfortable and that’s all that matters. I told him this morning it wouldn’t take him long to find his forever home and I found out he will be going there today!
Free groom for Wolfie, up for adoption from the SPCA. This sweet boy is 9 months old and has never set foot in a groom salon. He has significant matting on his legs and belly but lets see what we can do
