A common myth about pet health is that dogs and cats should have a "wet nose" at all times to indicate good health. Many people believe that a dry nose is a sign of illness, but this is not necessarily true. A dog or cat's nose can vary in moisture levels throughout the day based on factors like weather conditions, hydration, and activity level. While a consistantly dry and cracked nose may be a cause for concern, a temporary dry nose is typically not an indication of illness in pets.
Other symptoms and behavior should be considered to assess a pet's overall health. If you have concerns about your pet's health, it is always best to consult your veterinarian.
