🦷 OUCH! 🫣

This is a "Slab Fracture" which commonly happens to the large chewing tooth in dogs when they bite down on something hard like bones or antlers. This fracture often exposes the pulp chamber and leads to infections.
Symptoms include drooling, difficulty eating, abscesses, bleeding from the mouth.
Treatment often requires extraction or a root canal at a Veterinary Dentist to potentially save the tooth.

Pembroke Animal Hospital will be closed tomorrow, Sunday, and Monday as we enjoy the Thanksgiving weekend with our families.

She came in for her puppy booster vaccines with Dr. Felix, and honestly, we’re not sure who enjoyed the visit more—Poppy or us! ❤🐾
