Fluffy friend, anyone?
This is Percy, and we think he’s purrfect for you!

Percy is a 3 month old male kitten with gorgeous long hair and the most adorable curly white belly. He is much tinier than he looks under all that fur! He is very friendly despite being a stray and he loves to meet new people.

Percy is energetic, affectionate, and loves to explore. He enjoys having his long hair brushed and playing with just about anything. He is not very athletic, but will eagerly jump and twist himself into all sorts of shapes to grab a toy.

Percy has been neutered, received one round of vaccinations, and comes with a free bag of his current food. His adoption fee is $245.

Why get two kittens if cats are independent? What’s a bonded pair? Class is in session 😽⬇️

Many of us have heard that cats are solitary, independent animals. Believe it or not, they are highly socially flexible. While some indoor cats may be happy living alone, many domesticated cats form close bonds with other animals, and are likely to thrive when in a pair or group. It is a natural instinct of Felis Catus to form complex social structures due to a high population density, even if they aren’t necessarily fond of the cats in their proximity.

Domesticated cats often need the companionship of other cats or consistent socialization with humans to feel confident in their indoor environment, and to develop healthy boundaries and social behaviours. While they don’t need to be in groups, it can be highly beneficial. Raising cats together can prevent future behavioural problems such as scratching, inappropriate urination, unfriendliness or even depression.

But hey, what’s a bonded pair? Don’t all littermates bond? While yes, kittens will form a social relationship with their littermates, not all of them are bonded.

A bonded pair is a pair of cats or kittens that rely on each other for comfort, companionship and social interaction. If a bonded pair of cats were to be separated, it would cause one or both cats to become anxious, withdrawn or lose progress in socialization.

Bottom line is, it’s instinctual to cats to form a social structure with other cats in order to grow, learn, and develop confidence in their territories. While we may not all be blessed enough to be able support two feline friends, two can often be better than one!

Hey, it’s me, Franklin again! I’ve been waiting for someone to take me home for nearly a month now. I watched the other kittens be adopted, then my brother, and now I’m all alone. 😿

Now that it’s just me, I’ve really started to come out of my shell and start chatting to people. Will you come in and spend some time with me? I’m getting pretty bored all cooped up here!

I’m 6 months old, so I love to play and spend time with the nice ladies who work here. I love to be picked up, snuggled, and carried around! I’m pretty lonely, so I’ve started trying to befriend that big lazy kitty when they let me out to run around.

Do you have any kitties at your house? I’d love to meet them! I like kids, too!

I’m neutered, have all my shots and I’ve been treated for worms. And I’m only $185!

The Results are In……. 🥁
And oh boy are they good!! 💙👏😸

A HUGE thank you to all who came out for the Companions for Change National Adoption event that we hosted, in October, in coordination with Lanark Animal Welfare Society!!

With everyone’s support, we were able to:

🔹 find EIGHT kittens/cats (YES, you read that correctly) their FURever homes!
🏡 😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸 🏡
🔹 raise over $230 in monetary donations! 🎉
🔹 collect 173 cans of wet food, 2 bags of kitten food, 3 cans of KMR (kitten milk replacer), 3 cannisters of KMR powder, 1 bag of litter, 1 litter box, 1 storage container, 1 pouch of wet food and 1 beef cheek roll!! 🤩

🌟 In addition to the adoption weekend successes, we were also able to collect 107 cans of wet food, 1 bag of cat food, 2 bags of litter and 4 KMR cans, for another local rescue, Eastern Ontario Cats!! 🤩 Wow!!

Meow THAT’S impressive!! 👏

Another HUGE thank you to our amazing community and rescues for all that you do! We wouldn’t be able to support our local rescues without everyone’s contributions and help! You are all truly amazing!! 👏🤝🫶😻

NOW ADOPTED!

Did you forget about us? We still need a home!

Herbie and Haddie are adorable, cuddly and playful kittens who love to be held and given lots of affection. They are good with children and are friendly with everyone they meet.

Both siblings are very affectionate and will climb onto your chest to be held as soon as you open their cage. They love to play and are very social. They just need to be given a chance!

Both kittens are sterilized, are up to date on their vaccinations and have been treated for fleas and worms. Their adoption fee is $245 for one or $440 for both.
