We buried 5 x 100% cotton white un**es in 5 different locations to compare soil health.

It is commonly misunderstood just how ALIVE soil is. More than 25% of our planet’s life live in the soil, mostly in the form of microbes 🌏.

Microbes 🪱 play a huge role in plant health. They act as the plant’s ‘stomach’, digesting nutrients and providing key chemicals like nitrogen and phosphorous for plant cells to take in. Microbes can also move water around and prevent diseases.

So yeah, they are a big deal 🙌🙌

Egg shells, did you know are a great natural fertilizer, abundant in calcium, which plants like Tomatoes, Peppers, and Eggs plants depend on heavily. Plants need calcium to thrive. Calcium helps the plants develop a strong cellular structure. Calcium deficiency is visible in young plants, because the leaves are twisted or have black spot. In fruiting plants, such as tomatoes, a lack of calcium is evident when the fruits develop blossom end rot, or a thin, dark spot on the bottom of the fruit. An additional benefit of eggshells in the garden is that larger shell pieces help deter slugs. The sharp edges of the shells irritate the soft bodies of the slugs.
And don't worry about going overboard with the egg shells, it's takes over 120 shells to create a cup on ground down eggs shells, and actually it helps regulate soil pH to optimal levels for your plants to thrive.
Do be warned, eggshells on cooked may contain salmonella, so it's best to bake them for 200F for 30mins, or leave them in the sun to bake for a day before adding it to your plants.

So there you go, always something to save in your kitchen!!

When you water your Hoya keep the soil moist but in spring and summer. ... Too much water can lead to root rot. Some homeowners like to mist the leaves frequently. To increase high humidity, and cleaning the leaves, misting is fine.
