Last month, two Golden Rescue volunteers flew to Cairo to visit an Egyptian shelter partner to see how they were coping during this tragic CFIA ban. They were devastated to hear what was happening. One shelter alone has 3,500 rescued dogs. The situation is unimaginable and hard to describe. They go through 1.5 tons of food a month and do it somehow with very little support. Right now, all they can afford is bread and chicken parts. It is starting to get cold at night and it will drop to 10 degrees or less. Many of their dogs have short hair or little hair due to mange (a skin disease caused by mites that live in a dog's hair follicles) so they need to be kept warm. They need dog coats/sweaters but there is barely enough money for food, so buying coats is out of the question.

With help from our Golden Rescue community, we would like to initiate a ‘drive’ to gather as many coats and sweaters as we can. Used or new dog coats and
