Thankful Thursday - Karma's Story ❤️
This past holiday season we shared the story of Karma; a chocolate lab who overcame a rough start and through the care of PHS found his furever home.

Karma celebrated his first Christmas with his family, including Megan whom Karma has bonded with and helped through her Autism journey. It is truly heartwarming to see Karma getting the love he deserves.

Newsweek Feature: Timmy Goes Home! 📰

Timmy was in the care of the Peterborough Humane Society (PHS) for 268 days in 2024. Timmy, a staff and community favourite, stole the hearts of all who met him!

As a longer stay resident at PHS, Timmy was promoted frequently in hopes he would find his furever home. From socials, to Global Peterborough’s Shelter Pet Project, to Bell Pet of the Week, and Our Pet Pilsner Pet of the Month (twice!); Timmy had the community pushing for his success. A generous donor even sponsored his adoption fee!

This past December, Newsweek promoted Timmy in a feature for fellow long stay shelter residents. We are thrilled to share, Newsweek has now also shared the exciting news of Timmy’s adoption!

Thank you to everyone who rallied for and supported Timmy, he has found an amazing furever home. Please share to help us find more homes, for animals like Timmy.

Projects with Impact 🐾
Leah and Casey from Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School's Dual Credit Construction built PHS this great cat tree and beautiful sign as part of a school project!
As we look forward to the new year, and planning a trail system, we are excited to have this great piece to add!

These partnerships mean the world to us here at PHS. Together, every little bit helps towards caring for the animals in shelter and in our community.

6th Annual Cupcake Sale for The Peterborough Humane Society 🧁

Buy your Sweethearts some Sweet Treats! Stop by the Peterborough Office to purchase cupcakes during the sale, or contact one of our agents to pre-order. Cupcakes will be $15 per half dozen, or $25 per dozen. All proceeds from our cupcake sales will be donated directly to our local humane society, helping animals in our communities.

PHS Puppy Program 🐶 Spots Available!
January 22 - February 26 at 5pm

Puppies have a lot to learn in the first couple of months of their lives. They are experiencing brand new things on a daily basis and are constantly learning from these experiences. In this class you and your puppy will start building a bond through training some basic skills using positive reinforcement-based training methods. Your puppy will be exposed to new people, dogs, objects, and experiences and work on creating a positive association with these things that they will encounter throughout their life. During each class the trainer will provide you with tips to address common puppy behaviours like teething, crate training, house training, etc.

This class is suitable for puppies between the ages of 8-16 weeks and requires puppies to have at least their first set of vaccines and dewormer.
