Curious about a natural way to boost your dogs digestive health? Uncover the benefits of fasting to help your pup thrive! 🚫🍴

How to fast your dog:
1) Start slowly: Begin with a shorter duration such as 12 hours, usually overnight.

2) Gradually Extend Fasting: As your dog gets used to fasting, increasing the fast to 16-18 hours can be very beneficial.

3)Provide Fresh Water: Hydration is crucial, especially during a fasting period, as water helps to flush the toxins out of their system.

4)Monitor Behavior: Pay close attention to your dog, and if you notice any changes or signs of distress consult with your vet.

5) Consult with a vet: Fasting is not ideal for all dogs as underweight dogs, growing dogs, old dogs and any dogs with underlying conditions could be negatively affected by fasting. If you are unsure if fasting is right for your dog, talk to your vet first.

🍖 Benefits of Raw Meaty Bones(RMB) 🍖

1. Oral Hygiene: The bone acts as a natural toothbrush helping to clean and reduce tartar.
2. Mental Stimulation: The action of chewing on a bone gives your dog a job and alleviates boredom and sometimes helps with anxiety.
3. Bone and Muscle: RMB are full of calcium, glucosamine, and chondroitin which are great for joint health. Also helps dogs with arthritis.
4. Skin and Coat: The marrow and cartilage are great sources of collagen who helps their coat. Also helps their digestion by aiding in nutrient absorption.

Here’s some options of RMB for puppies and adult dogs:

For Puppies:
Chicken Wings: These small, soft bones help with teething discomfort and strengthen jaw muscles as they learn to chew effectively.

For Adult Dogs:
Beef Marrow Bone: Filled with collagen which is great for your dogs skin, coat, joints and also their digestion by aiding in nutrients absorption.

Gradually introduce bones to your dog and always supervise them when giving them bones.
Bones should not make up over 10% of your dogs diet.

My 65LB dog gets a 1/2LB bone every 2 weeks.

The larger the p**p, the less food is digested.

Kibble digestibility ranges from 50-80% depending on the brand and quality. This is mainly because the heating process to make kibble shelf stable makes the food harder to digest.
A guideline is under 75% is poor, 75-85% is moderate, and over 85% is ideal.

Raw food digestibility is generally 90%.
The size and odor of your dogs p**p can provide valuable insights into the quality of nutrients it is receiving.

Did You know BHA (Butylated Hydroxyanisole) was listed as a chemical known to cause cancer in the state of California in 1990?

Well theres a chance its in your dogs food. They will add it under the abbreviation BHA vs its scientific name to try to deceive you.
BHA is added to dog food to extend its shelf life.

This is one of the many reasons why feeding raw is beneficial as you never have to guess or assume something is safe for your dog.
