Scratching is an instinctual feline behaviour, allowing them to naturally groom their nails, mark their territory and stretch their muscles. To prevent your cat from scratching furniture, provide them with a scratching post and train them how to use it.

Cannabis affects the animal body differently than humans. In fact, ingesting cannabis can be dangerous for pets and could result in a medical crisis. If you think your pet ingested cannabis, take them to your veterinarian right away and tell them what happened - symptoms are varied and omitting this information can make managing your pet’s case difficult. Remember, your veterinarian only has your pet's health in mind.

It’s 🍫 and since 🎃 is also right around the corner as well, just a reminder that chocolate can be toxic to dogs. Make sure you keep your candy out of your pet's reach!

🍫 is one of the sweetest days of the year for humans. For your pet (especially your dog), it can be one of the most dangerous.

Chocolate toxicity is one of the most commonly treated toxicities in dogs, especially during the upcoming holiday season. Here's a look at which types of chocolate are the most toxic. Remember, if you think your pet may have gotten into some chocolate (of any kind), it's best to contact your veterinarian immediately.

We are still open, however we are taking safety precautions to help keep everyone safe during the COVID-19 outbreak.

We advice pet owners to take the following precautions when visiting our clinic:

To help keep veterinary teams, clients and patients safe during the COVID-19 outbreak, pet owners can take the following precautions when visiting a veterinary clinic:

• Call ahead to schedule an appointment.
• Notify the clinic if you have travelled outside of the country, are showing any symptoms or are feeling unwell, so appropriate precautions can be taken.
• Refrain from bringing other family members with you to your appointment.
• Purchase pet food in reasonable amounts (avoid panic buying).
• Wash/sanitize your hands before and after your appointment and practice social distancing whenever possible.

Veterinary clinics have safety protocols in place and are working hard to care for pets during this outbreak. If you have any questions, call your veterinarian.
