GROOMING SENIOR CATS 🐱✨
Have you ever noticed that your cat hasn’t been grooming themselves quite as well as they used to? When a cat’s grooming habits change, this can often indicate that something is wrong. Cats are particularly good at masking symptoms and pretending that there’s nothing wrong, so noting these subtle signs can help your veterinarian determine what’s wrong!
Mr. Rumble for example has arthritis, kidney disease and hyperthyroidism. He is unable to groom himself adequately and is not fond of being groomed- likely due to having very thin, sensitive skin 🥺
Luckily, Mr.Rumble is very food motivated so we are able to make it worth his time! The Sheridan team keep his grooming sessions short and sweet, then make sure he receives his treat after. Going back and forth between areas he doesn’t mind and the more sensitive areas really help with keeping him happy and comfortable throughout 💕✨
