Further proof the only thing better than loving a cat in your home is loving two cats! This pair of community cats, Connor and Cleopatra, went to an amazing home and are already so happy with the safe, warm, indoor lifestyle that they are posing for social media like experienced models! Connor's brother is Sasquatch. Sasquatch and Minto are still available for adoption as a pair. Give our post on them a read (or just scroll to last week):

Pick up will be at STS Storage, 1133 Abercrombie Road, New Glasgow Sunday, November 24 from 11:00 PM-2:00 PM ONLY. Available for Adoption As A Pair: because two kittens are always better than one!
Minto (now nearly 20 weeks old) has been busy as a community cat volunteer: she has been working day in and day out to socialize other younger kittens born to a free-roaming mother. We would like her to go to a home where she can continue to show Sasquatch what the good life indoors with snuggles is all about ;)

When Minto gets excited, she paces and rubs up against everything and then wiggles her tail. You can tell that when she finds her human, she will be the most affectionate soulmate. She still gets so happy she doesn't know what to do with herself. She gets pretty excited when you pick her up, and even if she wiggles away, she comes right back to you. She wants to sleep on the bed and when she gets into a snuggle craze she will roll around and purr for as long as you will pet her or until snuggling turns into playing (oh the life of a cat!). She is very playful with string and wand toys and balls of fluff. Her favorite game is a form of peek-a-boo with you and a toy that she can swat at out of her house or a play cube. She knows she is being cute here, and feeds on positive reinforcement. She socializes and plays well with other cats and kittens. She has an accepting disposition and might do well with a dog (introduced slowly and eventually) based on this. Given the way she plays/hunts, mice looking to winter in your basement this year will not stand a chance! Her eyes are amazing and unique and her coat feels like brushed velvet.

Sasquatch is very affection-oriented; he loves to be petted and held. Catching him might be a challenge because he thinks you are playing! Our strategy is to sit on the floor cross legged. Eventually he will just climb into your lap and purr :) He also thinks that the broom is a toy that you brought out for him.

Minto and Sasquatch have both tested negative for FIV/FeLV. They have been parasite-treated and have had initial vaccines. Minto has been spayed and Sasquatch will be neutered this Tuesday. Both of them trill to each other and to humans.

Here's your PSA for today:
Do NOT trap a cat without a plan! If your idea is to take the kitty to a shelter or work with a rescue, please, reach out to them FIRST to find out their policies and availability. If your plan is to take them to a low-cost clinic, make sure you know what days/times and availability they have for appointments. You can't imagine how many times we've heard, "Well, I thought...". That's why this message is so important for the general public.

When you trap a cat and find out no one is available to take it, it will be infinitely harder if you have to release and try to re-trap at a later date. 🥲
