I look forward to helping your horse and you!
Recently I have had this conversation with students and their parents. After tonight’s lesson student rode through a very difficult ride on her own horse, I wanted to share.
To the “lesson horses”
To Brass and Rosie, who likely gave me my first tumbles and bolts before I can even really remember.
To Bingo, who repeatedly slammed on her breaks for a bite of grass sending me on her head.
To Pine, who bucked, bolted, reared or just wouldn’t go forward. Who frustrated me to no end, left me crying a lot, made me hate him, made me hate my mother (who coached me) some days for pushing me to keep with it.
To Josh, who kept jumping out of the dressage ring at horse show, and who tried to roll on me while riding.
But also...
To Brass and Rosie, who put up with hanging off their heads to put on a halter or bouncing around on their backs learning my balance and for putting up with me learning to steer.
To Bingo, who stood and waited for me after every time I fell while learning to jump.
To Pine who gave me his all, who pushed me to be better no matter how much I cried. Who pushed me to ride more, learn more and to do a little bit of everything. Who kept me safe in all the stupid things I tried.
To Josh, who was pretty well perfect when he wanted to be.
There were many days I did not want to get back in the saddle, there were days that I wanted to quit, and days I needed a lot of encouragement. So to my students, when I push you to keep riding, know I have been there, I have been in your shoes, it does get better.
Now if this doesn’t just melt your heart! Karmyn works with Jupiter every week on the ground over different obstacle courses! Today she wanted to take off the lead! 💕🦄
I am a little late posting, but I hope you all had a great long weekend and for most of the kids the first part of summer vacation!
Myself and Hemi were in Pictou for the weekend running with the MBRA, we came home with champion junior horse as well as champion novice poles!
Victoria and Rafter had a great weekend as well, having their best run on Sunday, placing them in their class!
We have hit our goal of 150 likes so we will do a random draw for our free lesson tomorrow!
This summer is off to a great start, lessons are booming and we have some fun plans for next month! Please remember, even with the hot temperatures we do ask for riders to wear long pants and proper footwear! Please no flip flops around the barn. 😊
Thank you!
Danielle
This past weekend we attended the first MBRA show of the year, this is a little different of an environment for myself.
Jordan and Vinny rocked their first horse show together with 5 steady barrel runs each time better than the last!
Victoria and Rafter also had their first show together and managed to lope the majority of their barrel and pole patterns!
These two horse and rider combinations have come leaps and bound over the last 2 weeks, way to go girls!
Danielle and Hemi best their personal best of 17.9 second barrel runs with a 15.7. Video below!
