We love a reason to celebrate and the imminent arrival of a new baby is a truly uplifting reason to eat cake! Today is Amanda's last day at LVS before she embarks on an incredible journey of motherhood! We are beyond thrilled for her and her husband Lane and we can't wait to welcome their new bundle of joy! Congratulations and please come back to visit us soon!

Please join me in welcoming the newest member of our team at LVS, Jennifer! She will become a familiar face on farm and in the lab!

🎉As we continue to celebrate our incredible RVTs who are the backbone of veterinary medicine, we want to thank them for the dedication in ensuring the well being of our patients, from assisting in surgeries and performing crucial lab work to offering comfort during tough moments. This includes our RVT team from LVS as well, who make miracles happen everyday!

✨This celebration has become such a good way to know our amazing Vet Techs up close, its time to celebrate the last member of this squad. We're pleased to introduce LVS's newest addition, Jennifer! Jennifer recently graduated from the Vet Tech program at Lakeland College and has been in the field since a month. With new energy and passion, Jennifer loves working with furry friends (big and small) and getting to learn new stuff everyday! Jennifer like any other RVT in large animal practice faces many challenges, but we love to see her rise to the occasion - offering expertise, patience and whole lot of heart!

🦸‍♀️A little about Jennifer; she was very interested in working with cows and small animals so working at both clinics was the perfect fit for her! Growing up on an acreage outside of Coalhurst, she always had a bunch of household pets including cats, dogs, guinea pigs, gerbils, bunnies, hamsters, and fish! Since she lived next to a farm, she always had a bunch of feral cats and kittens on her yard and she'd spend her time taming them to rehome. Quite a few became her household pets! Having many pets from a young age grew her love for animals and she knew that she wanted a job where she could work with animals! Last summer she worked at a feedlot and fell in love with cows! Some of her hobbies include spending time outside with her pets, doing artsy things, baking, playing games and watching her favourite show, Grey's Anatomy. She has recently been learning to do some photography and haircuts for fun!

Her hard work behind the scenes, rain or shine deserves endless recognition! Let's take a moment to applaud and encourage her into her new journey in vet medicine!❤

🎲Here are Jennifer's two truths and a lie, let's see if we can catch the lie here as this is our last chance! 😅
1. I have an one eyed dog named Oakley
2. I have two Manx cats named Nub and Bear
3. I have two goldfish named Bubble and Squid

Although we share Amanda with our sister clinic, the Coaldale Pet Clinic, we know how much our clients and their cattle appreciate her on the days that she is working with us.

📣This week and the next, we're shining a spotlight on the heart and soul of our clinic - our amazing Vet Techs. These heroes go above and beyond every day, providing top-notch care, endless love and a comforting hand (and paw) to our furry friends.

🎉Meet Amanda, who has been a technician for six years. You may not see her at the clinic every day, since she also works at our large animal clinic in Picture Butte. As much as Amanda loves seeing and snuggling our feline patients, she has a true passion for working with dairy cows and really enjoys that her time can be split with both small and large animals. In her spare time, she likes to go hiking or spend time cuddling her dog or her two cats.

👏 Let's thank her in the comment section and give her a big shout out for all the amazing things she does for our clients and their pets! ❤

🎲We are having a game of two truths and a lie with our stars!
Here is Amanda's list, can you guess the lie? 🧐
- I grew up on a cow calf farm
- I have a bad habit of foster failing pets
- All my pets are named after food

October is Registered Veterinary Technologist Month. We love having the opportunity to celebrate our amazing RVTs. They are such an integral part of what we do every day and the care and compassion that they have for each of the animals they work with is inspiring. Today, you can get to know Jessica a little bit better!
