Our 50/50 is up and running! $10/square with 100 squares available. Up to $500 to the winner if we sell out! Draw date is Feb. 28, 2025 live.
Please stop in, message us on Facebook or call us at 403-627-5191 and we'll get your name on a square or 3 😊 thank you for your continued support! Proceeds go towards vetting costs for our animals ❤️
Did you know that each animal who comes through our shelter is spayed/neutered if they aren't already altered, which most are not, vaccinated including rabies inoculation, dewormed and microchipped?

Love stinks!! Our first ones ready to go. E-transfers can be sent to [email protected] with the name you want in the comments and we'll get it done 😆 $10 donation per name with proceeds going to vet care for the animals!

And who says Valentine's Day isn't for everyone 😀😀

Flame fizzled out??? Dumped??? Catfished??? Our adoptable cats have your back and will dump all over your EX 😁 Cats can be spiteful creatures and trust us, they are more than happy to take a #2 on your former #1 😁

For only a $10 donation, your EX's name will be written in one of our litter boxes and the cats will do their "business" 😁

Please send your donation to [email protected] and add your EX's name in the message section.

Thanks for your support 😀

21 dogs in shelter, 4 in foster, 6 on a waiting list to come in.

Shelter is designed for 10 dogs.

Did you know we helped 425 animals in 2024! We know other places have done even more but for our little shelter it is more than double what we do in a year. So proud of our staff for all their hard work and thankful for all of our amazing volunteers, adopters and donors.

Below are some pictures of some of the crew and 3 of the 4 new arrivals.

Things that would help

1. Rescues/shelters please take back your dogs you adopt out. We have had 5 come into our system and another one waiting as the place they were adopted from is refusing to take them back. Not okay.

We at the Pincher Creek Humane Society have a contract that is signed. If the adoption doesnt work out and/or life happens, the animal is to come back to us if a suitable home can not be found. We do not want any of our animals putting pressure on any other shelter/rescue system.

2. Fosters we always need them

3. Make sure you have a back up plan for your animals. This is why we ask this question on our application. If something is to happen to you, who is taking your animals.

4. Spay/neuter please. Ask about resources if you can not afford full price at the vet.
All our animals do not leave our system till they are spayed/neutered.

5. Struggling with food ask about resources.

6. Adopt from shelters and rescues or reputable breeders. Avoid online puppy mills. Most animals are not spayed/neutered and are adding to the problem as the puppy mill gets their money and doesnt follow up with spaying or neutering. Or the puppies are just given away and the new home cant afford to spay or neuter or thinks it cute to have a litter of puppies.

7. Donations of any kind ie. bottles, money, food, litter, cleaning supplies. We are in desperate need of everything.

Life happens, we get it. We are not here to pass.judgement on your situation, we want to support with solutions if we can but right now we are drowning A friendly person will always answer the phone and try to give you options, offer support so please be kind to our staff.
Their hearts are hurting everyday from all the sad situations they have to endure.

Be a nice human.

With Valentine's Day being just around the corner.......

If you would like to SPAY or NEUTER your EX, you can do so for a $40.00 taxable donation to the PCHS and you will receive this amazing certificate to treasure the moment 😀

All you need to do is put the name of your EX in the message section of the e-transfer ([email protected]). When the next stray cat comes in and needs to be spayed or neutered, we will send them to the vet, prevent them from breeding and send you your certificate. It's a win-win 😀

THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT 😀😀

Edit to add: Rose met some small humans recently and was just the absolute sweetest with them ❤️ she is a wonderful non-reactive dog who would be an amazing addition to a family

Have you met Rose?
She is currently in foster care and thus is what they have to say:

Rose update: Huge people pleaser/easy to train. Good with dogs. Will use appropriate correction if someone pushes her but will not start anything. Good with cats. She thinks mine are great and they think she’s not annoying enough for them to care about so everyone is happy. Seems to have a low prey drive but interested in birds. Not highly toy motivated. Doesn’t really care about fetch but she does like to carry a toy around with her especially when she’s excited. Loves food but is respectful. If you tell her no she’ll leave it be. Loves to chew on things. Hasn’t been a problem in our house because she’s always supervised but if left alone she might decide she likes your shoes. Got her on a schedule and she’s pretty much housetrained now. Will still p*e a little if too excited, but this mostly occurs in first thing in the morning when she’s had to hold it for a while. FOMO to the max. Will need to be managed so she doesn’t get separation anxiety. Have been working on crate training to help manage this and I think we are making progress.

If you would like to meet this sweet girl please let us know and we will arrange a meet and greet.
