Located in Plantagenet (East Ottawa) – Sonia Kalcic is a Canine Wellness Coach and Behavioural Trainer. She advocates for the use of a mindful holistic approach, focusing on Respect, Empathy, Altruism and Love - a training method that is both kind and fair to the dogs. Originally certified in obedience, protection training and narcotics detection, Sonia now prefers to educate both dogs and owners

on how to achieve their goals without the use of never-ending management. Her approach aims at reducing stress and anxiety, and is based in relaxation and perception modification. The goal is to change how dogs experience the world around them, so they are able to live a happy stress-free life. Whether you need help with your unruly puppy, or that you have specific questions regarding just about anything, Canine CitiZen has the answers you are looking for! Our Story

Located in South Oshawa, Sonia Kalcic is the head trainer and behaviour specialist for Canine Citizen. Her credentials include apprenticing and getting certified through Dave McMahon's Dog Training Academy, going to many canine training seminars held internationally; and, coaching/teaching hundreds of students both privately and in group, school, seminar and conference setting. Sonia is also member in good standing of the IACP (International Association of Canine Professionals) and proud to currently study/coach under the guidance of Mark McCabe, creator of Training Between The Ears (TBTE).
