We're ready for our inaugural indoor class! Starting with our puppies!
Are you looking for a safe, comfortable and fun class to bring your puppy?! Look no further! We keep classes small for individual attention, focusing on puppy development, the right way to socialize, and most importantly providing the knowledge and insight to become your pup's greatest teacher. We'd love to see you π. Send us an email at [email protected] for more information.
My old guy Sammy has a tough time in the heat, so instead of a longer walk today, he's getting his treat towel instead. Mental activity is essential for a well exercised dog, and especially beneficial for the seniors πΎβ€οΈ
This is what 140lbs looks like play bowing while doing zoomies. Took a wee break from training to let Sherlock have some off leash time inside the fenced off leash park. All the other owners decided to break bylaw and have their dogs running around the unfenced grass area. So while navigating around them during our training walk, we opted to take advantage. Sherlock is making great progress and it's so rewarding to see him this happy!
Got to work with this sweet girl and her fantastic guardian again today. It's been almost 2 years since the last time we prepared Chica for her service dog testing. Her two year re-certification is coming up so this team wanted to brush up on some of their skills for a successful test. Of course Chica is doing great, and this will be some easy work for all of us π
Reactivity can sometimes be due to a lack of impulse control, and frustration of being on leash and not being able to greet the other dog. This can be challenging to work on because it's not often we can give the dog what they ultimately want for calm behaviour, especially in our Reactive Dog classes. However, last night we had such an opportunity. Bailey worked hard on his impulse control and focus, while new dog Reggie was in the room. So well in fact, he got to have a quickly hello on leash, and immediately focussed back on his handler. That ultimate reward came when he got to have a good play session with his new buddy π. Nicely done Bailey!
"Company for Coffee" - such a fun lesson, and this group did such a great job! Nicely done teams!
We're always so proud of our Reactive Dog students, but some make us especially proud - like Riley for instance (the light coloured dog furthest away). This lovely boy was excited around other dogs, and struggled to engage with his handler. After a change in diet and training strategy, Riley was ready to join the other dogs in class exercises! He's now easily engaging with his handler, can stay calm when he sees other dogs, and most of all is having fun with the training. He's a work in progress, but we're thrilled to see his success.

Snuck in visit a with Coco and brought him to the training centre where he could have a good play and stay dry. He also thought he'd help Rich of Doggone Smart Nosework set up for classes. Such a silly boy π
Introducing Cheyanna! This lovely girl is also at the Vancouver Animal Shelter desperately waiting for her forever home. Like Coco, she's very playful and incredibly affectionate. Could you or someone you know be her chance at a wonderful life? Please share and spread the word - we need to network these dogs to give them the best chance. As with Coco we will offer a few training sessions with Cheyanna's adopter to help settle her in (within our service area).
Spent some more time with this silly boy. Coco is very playful, and loves his toys. This guy really needs to get out of the shelter and into a foster home or forever home. He's young and strong but very smart and loves to train. If you or someone you know could help this guy out, Dizine Canine will donate training sessions to help him settle into your home *
We want to see this guy happy and settled so he can reach his full potential π
