Anyone recognize this handsome guy from lower Burde st area??
He was brought in by a concerned member of the public, he was quite thirsty upon arrival. He is healthy, but with no ID we cannot trace an owner.

Tigey cannot wait to find his new family. He was an oopsy litter so he was surrendered to find a new home.
Tigey is 6 weeks old and had to be separated from mom and his sister to prevent more unwanted pregnancies. He is very sweet and handles well. He likes his lettuce and exploring his surroundings at his own pace.

Transfer Day today was a bit emotional as we said our farewells and good lucks to Rose, Luigi, and Mew.
We wish Rose all the best in BC SPCA Victoria, we hope she finds her perfect match real soon in the big city ❤️. Luigi and Mew went to BC SPCA Cowichan, where we hope they flourish and find some great homes.

She has been patiently waiting 130 days with hardly any interest... She loves people, animals not so much.
Rose loves going for walks, playing with the hose, and playing "How many toys can i destroy today" game.

Scrolling through facebook tonight and saw a post that there were multiple vehicles spotted with dogs in them today... Every year we have the same problem :(
It is always best to leave your pet at home if you need to go to the store. Sometimes its not possible and they need to come. If thats the case, make sure you leave someone in the car to monitor them and take the necessary measures if showing signs of heatstroke.
Please remember it only takes 10 minutes to lose your best friend. Here is some more tips on what to do if you see a dog in a vehicle on a hot day:

❤️Today is National Best Friends day ❤️
We have a few lovely critters who would make a great BFF:

Was found on Lakeshore road near Dellas cafe area. Intact male, white and orange.
If you know who he belongs, our condolences... He is at the SPCA, we will hold for a week, then have him cremated if no one comes forward.

Sinatra is a special boy, at 7 years old, he is a pretty chill guy who loves a good snuggle. He was diagnosed with FIV when he was younger, but he is a lover, not a fighter and so he finds comfort in his energetic sidekick, Starza.
Starza is still a kitten, she loves bouncing all over the place and pouncing on all her toys. Her favourite toy of all though, is her big brothers tail 😹.
They may seem like an odd pair, but they are the sweetest!! Indoor only home, no other cats, not sure about dogs, kids welcome.

What a stunning boy! We all have fallen in love with Scoob, you will too!
Scoob arrived in our care not really knowing how to "dog"- not great on leash, not sure about indoor life, doesnt know what to do with toys, etc. we are working on desensitizing him and getting him used to things like walking on harness, which is going great!

Simba and Little Face are anxious to get into their new homes! They came in together, however they arent really bonded and do their own things.

Persephone is really hoping this may be her week to find a loving home... at 10 months old, she is really hoping to find a new home before she turns a year old... This sweet girl has had a hard time finding a home because of her Upper Respiratory. Our adoption room has been on quarantine because of it, and while it is contagious to other cats in direct contact, we have had no luck which is such a shame as she is such a nice cat!!! Sweet as the fruit of her namesake, here is Watermelon! She is a 6 month old Caucasian Shepherd who is looking for her furever home. She came in with her sister Pineapple (adopted) and they were both in need of a lot of work. Undersocialized and only ever knew the property they grew up on. We have been helping her get used to a lot of new things, such as other dogs, people, and leash training. This beautiful girl is already around 30kg, she will only get bigger, these dogs are guardian dogs. Please do some research on the breed before applying, they are not apartment dogs haha. Miss Wanda was really hoping my fingers were a tasty treat, perhaps you could win her over with some tasty treats. This whole crew has been with us too long!! These kittens were a week or 2 old when we first got them, they are now 3 months old... Unfortunately they caught the upper respiratory virus that has our adoption room on quarantine. They are normal kittens (and mom), and just need to move on and find families to live and thrive in. Their cat cold has the potential to be contagious to other cats, but the chances are lessened if existing cats are up to date on vaccines. We really want to get these sweet kitties out of shelter and in their new furever homes, please help us!! We currently have a half price adoption promotion going on until Nov 3rd.
