Simon and Tula have been through so much during their time with us, they have been in and out of both the shelter and foster homes, dealt with upper respiratory and ringworm, and are still purring away.

These beautiful kittens have grown into cats while waiting for their chance. We love them but it would be so amazing to find them furever homes.

To find out more about them, please give us a call or email: 250-723-5269 ext 4 Tues-Sat 12-4, or [email protected]

To apply, please visit: https://spca.bc.ca/survey/cat-adoption-application-alberni/

Missing!!

Great Pyrenees type dog from around the SPCA building escaped a vehicle before being brought into the building.

Please use caution if approaching, has snapped at our staff. We are currently trying to wrangle him in the area.

We are hoping the owner sees this and can wrangle him up for christmas. He was found with a smaller dog (jack Russell mix) whom is safe at the SPCA.

"Hey??? What about me???"

Poor Molly isnt asking for much this christmas, just a loving home with another cat buddy to play with.

Molly is a bit shy, but also very sweet and can be sassy at times. She is the last of her litter and is eager to find a furever family.

She would prefer older kids, but is ok with the toddlers, she loves other cats and would benefit from a feline friend, and has lived with dogs.

To apply, please visit: https://spca.bc.ca/survey/cat-adoption-application-alberni/

Tibby, Esme, & Maisie came into care after being found in a rural area as outdoor kittens, they stayed in a foster home until recently where they have been brought to the center now that they have had some indoor-life exposure in the home!

They were all very fearful when they came in, and are still learning to trust people but we’ve had a big breakthrough with them and now they’re all purrs!
That being said, they would prefer a calm home and indoor-only due to their nervous nature.

Tibby was the first to come around and was just waiting for the chance to be loved. She is super sweet, although still shy and would love nothing more than to make up for lost time with cuddling.
She would do great with another cat in the home, and particularly loves her sister, Maisie.

She is very playful and her favourite toys are little mice, she carries them around in her mouth and brings them where she goes, she even brings them to drink her water. 🙂

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out the application.

We have had some inquiries about what we may need at the shelter, so heres a wishlist.

Our top item needed would be small scratch posts and durable dog toys.

Our Food bank program, "Animeals" is always in need also, especially around the holidays. Any donations of new or opened in the original packaging food can be accepted. Any brand of food, kibble or canned.

🐶 Carlos is one good boy!! 🐾

Carlos is ready to find his new furever home.
We are hoping to find Carlos a foster to adopt home for over the holidays, as he is awaiting a dental surgery, but once he has his surgery and is all healed up, the foster home can make it official in the new year!!

Carlos is a fun, loving, energetic guy for his age!
He LOVES all toys, he enjoys playing tug, oh and he loves his puzzle toys, but of course he does because food is his number 1 favourite. Carlos does love squishy toys, but he will DESTROY them instantly, so if there are squishy toys, Carlos will need to be supervised. He also really enjoys going for walks with his people, he is usually on his best behaviour, but sometimes when he see’s something, he feels he may need to chase it to investigate.

This guy is on a strict hypo diet as he suffers from allergies, which causes him to lose some hair. Carlos is also on medication for his allergies, but we are hoping one day that we can get him to a very low dose or stop completely.

He can be selective with his doggy friends, it seems he prefers to be more of a ladies man, then to share his space with another boy. Not suited for a home with cats.

If you are interested in Carlos, the first step is the application: https://spca.bc.ca/survey/dog-adoption-application-alberni/

Can't adopt but still want to help?? We are also raising donations towards his medical bills, please click the link for more: https://medical.spca.bc.ca/animal/384/
