Yesterday I posted that we needed some of your help. The construction has been kinda killing us and I honestly thought January and February would just look a lot like the above - Dock and I, the two of us….chatting each other through it (not necessarily a bad thing lol!!!)
But yesterday my heart SWELLED with gratitude. You showed up for us. Honestly, the support and the love this building holds can never go unnoticed. It’s blows my mind! Thank you. Thank you BEYOND. For reminding us that the construction isn’t so bad lol…sometimes January is difficult as there’s much time spent in our own little world. Then there’s a break in the quiet and it recharges, motivates and inspires us (me) to persevere and remind me that it’s really NOT THAT BAD!

It was a “pouring rainy day” not just a “day that was pouring rain” 😂
I’ll never forget that day. I had to drive to Elora last summer for my son’s lacrosse game. I LOVE downtown Elora (if you haven’t been - go!) and popped into a few of my favourite shops. I had the afternoon to myself, I took my time and while everyone else was finding shelter from the rain, I got soaked. Absolutely sopping! I dig through that clearance bin like a mad woman…the business owner was so grateful for me to help her clear out summer inventory and to have the sale. She helped me wrap each one in newspaper from her back storage room and found a box to place them in. She brought a towel out from their staff room to dry each one off before it went to its new home. They stayed in that newspaper until I found them last week in my garage. It was such a joy to unwrap each one!
I’ll never forget that day for many reasons, but what stands out is that small business owner. Her care, her kindness, her humour and her gratefulness. THAT’S what supporting small is all about. I could feel her happiness buzzing as I left with these adorable ceramic pot holders. So much joy that day.
I hope they bring you joy! There’s an energy about these little guys ☺️
