Update:
We are happy to report Lily will be safe and is coming into our care. There seems to be some confusion about this post. We have a foster for her but need fosters for all the other dogs just like Lily that are also in need of rescue. This post was made to share the plight of dogs in similar situations to Lily that also need to be saved. Without fosters we can't help them!! Please read the full post below and if you think you can help us by providing a foster home for another dog in need, contact us and/or fill out an application.

This is Lily. She is a four month old puppy in a shelter, set to be euthanized this week. Unfortunately, her story is not rare and rescues are sent images like these daily from shelters, asking for their help because they just don’t have enough room to keep them all.

Nobody wants to see this. It is heartbreaking and of course we all want to help.

Second Chance is committed to saving as many lives as we can, but the reality is, we just can’t do it alone. We need kind people to offer up their homes and care for a dog in need and join our foster team today. We can only save as many dogs as we have fosters for, it’s as simple as that.

Please consider joining us in our mission to save as many Lilys as possible. As a dog lover, helping a dog secure their future is one of the most rewarding experiences you will ever have.

Holly is a happy, friendly 9 year old Bernese Mountain Dog. She's good with people and likes other dogs, but needs a calm and quiet household. She's spayed and up to date on shots.

Don't let him fool you, he gets plenty of food and love from the volunteers and his furry friends, but what Bear really wants for Christmas is a forever home. Bear is a 1 year old Bernese Retriever X. He's still a puppy, smart and active, but so so affectionate. He can be territorial about food with other dogs but otherwise gets along great.
