Good news!
The CDC rules have been updated with regards to travelling with dogs into the USA. Please check the following link for clarification.
https://www.cdc.gov/importation/dogs/rabies-free-low-risk-countries.html
Pet owners are no longer required to get a veterinary certification to travel and dogs NO LONGER NEED TO SHOW PROOF OF RABIES VACCINATION if they have only been in countries that are low risk for Rabies such as Canada and Mexico.
All that is needed is the following:
• Dog must be at least 6 months of age
• Dog must have a microchip
• You will need to fill out an online form ( CDC Online Import Form) available here
https://cdc-786687.workflowcloud.com/forms/090dc543-7b2f-4538-b2c7-2919d12ecc73
This form will be valid for 6 months, and can be used for multiple entries
If your dog has been in a high risk country ( check the website for the list) in 6 months prior to travel, then other rules apply and I encourage you to check the details on the CDC website.
There are four requirements for dogs that have ONLY been in countries that are dog-rabies free or lo
