Here we go again, our dryer bit the dust 😢 Does anyone have a spare dryer they're no longer using that we can put to work here at the Centre? We're currently air drying our guests' laundry outside to get us through, but we don't have enough fence to keep up with the amount of daily laundry we do here 😆

Nani 🌸

Socialable, smart, and full of delight- Nani is ready to share her pep with the world. Despite Nani starting her senior years, she still has a lively energy to her. A great walking companion, Nani is excited to go for a daily trot, then come home and follow up with some play time. She loves her toys, engaging both independently and with human companions, especially when it comes to her squeaky whale stuffy! 🐋

Nani would love to exercise her body and mind more, but she currently needs some help getting to a comfortable point. Nani has been benefitting from daily supplements and monthly arthritis injections to support her aging joints.

Some of her other hobbies include sunbathing, being with her people, and snacking on some apples 🍎 if you offer! Nani loves people, and prefers to be with them over not. She has been living comfortably with dog savvy cats, and is understanding of their boundaries. Other dogs excite Nani, and while she loves their presence, she hasn't quite figured out how to respect their space when they don't want to engage.

📣 Recycling Announcement 📣

We're saddened to share that there is an individual who is taking large amounts of our recycling multiple times throughout the day 😿

As you know, our recycling program greatly helps us raise much needed funds for the animals in our community. While we've been trying to move the recycling up closer to the building throughout the day to discourage what's been happening, we find ourselves unable to keep up with all your generous donations.

We'd like to ask, if you're able, if you could drop your recycling donations off closer to our entrance in hopes we can deter this situation from continuing.

From all of us, including the very handsome adoptable Apollo, want to thank you for your continued generosity and help while we navigate this situation 🐾 💛

Who's this handsome fella with the biggest happy grin!? Why it's APOLLO, of course!

Apollo is a lovable and goofy 7-year-old Rottweiler who will melt your heart with his adorable antics and charming personality. Despite his size, Apollo is a gentle guy who loves to spend time with his humans and soak up the love. He's a big softy and loves to give kisses and ask for pats. He'll plop himself down directly in front of you in hopes you'll have no other choice than to give into him. With his little tail stub wagging away and his smile big and bright, it's not hard to tell when he's having a good time.

While Apollo loves to get out and about, his body doesn't always agree with his youthful spirit. Apollo is currently working off his "winter weight" and is asking for a helping paw to get him beach bod ready! With some small supports, Apollo will be ready to strut his stuff further and further every day.

Even with arthritis present, Apollo doesn't let that stop him from being his fun-loving self. He plays just as much as the next, and his mind is present in all things. He is as smart as a whip and knows quite the list of commands. Happy to engage and create new games, Apollo will have your home filled with love, laughter, and t***s.

Apollo has previous experience with dogs but can be selective upon meetings. He would do best in a home as the only animal, where he can focus on his own journey.

Zoe and Zoro are an enthusiastic sibling pair, looking for a home to share together. Both are playful, affectionate, and always full of positive vibes.

Zoro is quite the charmer. He makes a point to seek you out for some head pats and to give a reminder that he’s ready for whatever the day is to bring. He’s quite fond of his catio, whether it be to watch the world go by or to soak up some sun.

Uh oh! We're running really low on blankets, dog toys, towels, tea towels, & dish cloths here at the Centre. If you've got any of these items to spare, we'd be super grateful to have them. We're also really low on wet dog food and dry cat food for our food bank.

Meet Miss Madi!

Madi is an affectionate, young, and eager gal looking for a family to join in all things fun. She's great with children, other dogs, and matching your energy.

Being an energetic breed, she's ready for any adventure to come. She loves to learn and is quick to pick up new tricks and cues. Her leash manners and recall are strong, as is her "sit." Madi is excited to add more commands to her list and hopes you are too! After a good outing, Madi appreciates her downtime as well, especially a snuggle on the couch with her people. Yodel is intelligent, playful, and down right adorable!

Being a puppy is super fun. With all the playtime, cuddles, and snacks involved, Yodel is quite fond of the simple pleasures life has to offer. While he always enjoys the things he knows, outside of his regular routine he gets a bit nervous when placed in a new situation. With lots of encouragement and positivity, Yodel is quickly on his way to overcome his concerns.

A smart cookie indeed, in addition to learning about the world, Yodel is already starting to master his basic commands. He has a great sit, and is hoping to get his leash manners all sorted very soon. Food, praise, and toys, are all great options for reward to Yodel, and he is eager to gain more knowledge and confidence.

Curious and kind, Laya is looking for a family that is dedicated to her learning, as well as embracing her enthusiastic mind.

Laya is still discovering the ways of the world, but is keen on experiencing it all. She had a slow start to her socializing, but this hasn't held her back from loving people and other canine friends. Where Laya needs a helping hand, is overcoming new situations and becoming familiar with things she hasn't previously seen before. Good thing she is a brave little lady, and ready to jump right in!

Currently focusing on leash walking and basic manners, Laya has put her best paw forward. She is a quick learner, but being young and excitable, she often gets distracted. Laya responds well to positive based training, with lots of praise and encouragement. Smart and eager, she wants to please!

Her lively personality and playful spirit is sure to draw you in, while her affectionate and snuggly ways will keep you wanting more. Did you know wild animals need professional care too?🏥🦝

If you find a baby wild animal, that doesn’t always mean they’re in trouble. Often you won’t need to do anything at all. However, if the baby is hurt or sick, or you know the mother is dead, they will need help right away.

Whether it’s a baby bird, squirrel, deer, seal, raccoon or skunk, a baby animal’s best chance for survival is with its mother. Without a mom, wild animals require professional care to give them the best chance of survival or possible reunion. Never provide food or water to injured wildlife without consulting with a wildlife rehabilitator first, and never try to keep or care for a wild animal yourself.

We have the pleasure of introducing you to this beautiful gal, Kelly!

Kelly is 5 years old and is ready to find her people. Kelly is a very loving individual and isn't afraid to show it. With a gentle head butt and a soft purr, she knows the way to pretty much everyone's heart.

While Kelly can be a bit unsure of new people at first, it doesn't take this girl long to learn that people adore her! After realizing this, Kelly turns into the biggest softie, seeking out chin scratches and a comfy spot on your lap!

Kelly enjoys the simple things in life, such as curling up in a cozy spot for a nap, basking in the warm sunlight, and quietly observing her surroundings with curiosity and grace. Kelly's soft fur, gorgeous green eyes, and delicate features make her a truly beautiful feline companion.

Kelly raised some very well-behaved kittens while in our care, who have all since been adopted. Now that she has made sure all her babies went into amazing homes, it's her turn!

Inquisitive and entertaining, Snowball and Wolf are ready to spruce up your daily routine with their playful antics.

Chinchilla's are so much more than their small puff ball exterior. They are intelligent, active, clean, and a touch mischievous. Did you know that chinchilla's enjoy daily greens, on top of their regular hay and pellet diet? Snowball and Wolf in particular love a variety (in moderation!) of fruits and veggies, such as; apples, strawberry, banana, cauliflower, parsley, and carrots.

While these two boys may be entering their senior years, they don't seem to know any different! They bounce around and run on their wheel, just as they did in their youth. Both of them use their space well, exploring new items, playing with toys, and completing puzzles. They are interested in human interaction, and are not shy to seek you out when it's social time.

Say “Hey”, to Henry!👋

Henry is the epitome of youthful energy and positive vibes. Whether it be playing independently with his toys, engaging with people or other cats- Henry faces the day with enthusiasm and delight. While he takes playtime pretty seriously, Henry also has a good understanding of being gentle and creating a positive experience for all involved.

His affectionate nature shines just as brightly as his playful antics. He’s always eager to seek out companionship, making him the ultimate cuddle connoisseur. Being the social butterfly that he is, Henry is not one to turn down an opportunity for human interaction. You can often find Henry approaching you with a small chirp and tap to your leg, letting you know he would like to join you for some snuggles.

When Henry came into care, he had sustained an injury to his leg that required repair. After a long rehab journey and ample support, Henry is feeling his old self again. While Henry’s leg healed perfectly, he still needs one more small surgery to complete his recovery. Henry is currently looking for a local foster-to-adopt home to join, that can help him settle in prior to his surgery and is comfortable with his aftercare.

Prevent accidental fawn-napping this spring!🦌

Did you know that fawns are often left alone while their mothers forage for food?

If you happen across a curled-up fawn lying quietly to hide from predators, they may not need any help. Fawns spend most of their time alone and the best way to help them is to keep companion animals away and give them lots of space. Avoiding unnecessary intervention and keeping fawns with their mothers will give them the best chance at survival.

Today's spotlight: Mr. Digs! ✨️🔦 Mr. Digs is quite possibly the chillest bun out there - seriously, he's calm, cool, and collected! All. The. Time.

This guy is social, sweet, and tbh pretty hard not to fall for 😍 While our guy Diggity isn't too keen on being picked up, he's pretty darn happy to come right on up and sit or lay alongside you. He just wants to hang with his human friends.

Let us talk about snacks... Mr. Digs is a definite snacker! Although, he's only got vision in one eye from an old injury, and works twice as hard to find them snacks, this guy finds em'! We should probably note that we don't make him look too hard, because, well, he's just too cute.

Who is this handsome guy you ask? Meet Six!

Six is our current canine comedian here at the Centre with his silly antics and playful personality 🃏 But wait, there's more!

Six is a guy who is always up for an adventure with his humans, playdates with other canines, and is happy to share his space with felines, too. What can we say? He's a well-rounded guy!

Even though Six is a big fella... if he fits, or maybe doesn't 😆, he sits! Yup, Six loves a good couch cuddle, floor snuggle puddle, or a good nap at your feet while you're working.

Six's enthusiasm is infectious, and when Six gets excited, you might find him happy hopping. His excitement builds up and this guy just can't keep it in any longer. Visualize a giant piece of popcorn popping, all vertical, and a less than graceful landing 🍿 It's quite impressive for a guy his size!

Six is food motivated and eager to learn. He's currently working on his loose leash walking - he just wants to be a part of everything, and well, we don't have long enough legs to always keep up! Ha. But again, with continued positive, gentle guidance Six will have this fine tuned in no time.

Who loves car rides, walks, and all things fun? Emma does!

Our gal Emma is a sassy and sophisticated young gal who is full of ambition and opinions! Emma prides herself on being clean and always makes sure to strut her stuff with purpose. She loves to play with her toys, throwing them in the air and running them over to you. Generally very calm and collected, Emma still has her puppy moments where she wants to play-play-play and for you to be involved. An avid adventurist by day, Queen of naps and cuddles by night. Emma is all about balance.

Emma has been socialized with other canine and feline friends and is happy to participate in playtime. Despite this, she would prefer to be the only animal in the household, as boundaries are very important to her. Being an Akita, Emma has a stubborn side and will require a partner in life who has patience and understands her personality. We advise that anyone interested do some reading on her breed, and know that she is best suited for an experienced owner.
