Nice change of colour with this Appaloosa around, this flashy guy headed home last week to its owner ready to ride.
This fancy looking gelding came to us to work on collection and head carriage. We are super happy with how he turned out!
Can’t wait to see what kind of horses Max will sire one day! He was a fun one to start!
With 1.5 hours behind of the rest of the horses Zeus did amazing! He managed to achieve every single obstacle except picking up his feet. From the bridge, tarp, gate, roping the dummy, dragging the log, loping, trotting, serpentine through the poles and loading into the trailer. Zeus accomplished all of this while only being worked for 1.5 hours! We didn’t want to use too much horse up in the finals as we are fortunate enough to get to start him this month at home. Thank you everyone for your support whether in person in Lloyd or from a far. @lloyd_ex thank you so much for putting on such an amazing event and letting us be apart of it.
Zeus’ third session before the finals. Got a quick ten minute ride before ending our sessions. Being 1.5 hours behind the other horses Zeus stepped it up and held it together !
Unfortunately Monty Walsh hurt himself after a great morning session. Before his second session the decision was made that it was in the best interest of the horse to not continue the competition. With two 45 minute sessions behind the rest we got to start a new colt. Zeus has showed a lot of try and we only get one more 45 minute session with him before the finals! Talk about some euro stress!
Day one of the trainers challenge is done and Monty Walsh is sure making us work for it. There are quite a few ‘Bloopers’ that could show you just how expressive this horse is. He’s coming around on the right track, tomorrow will be a fun day!
Chaos the 8 month old Drum horse is such a quick learner!
Elvis was sure handy to doctor off of this summer.
Widowmaker working hard at Weldon Arena!
Elvis really came into himself working at the community pasture and the branding pen. He is doing great turning steers and we are having fun riding him!
Curly, you’ve given us so many opportunities that we are forever grateful for. We are so excited for you to spend the winter in Arizona. This is one of the hardest goodbyes we have had but he could not have found a home with a better person.
Just a little Texas in Saskatchewan. We had a fun day gathering and trailing cows. Thanks for the fun day LIVE 2 HUNT with Cody and Kelsy
Equine Expo Ranch Rodeo! We had the best teammates and our geldings, Widowmaker and Curly were excellent! Can’t wait for the next one!
The moves on this little mare though ❤️ she’s going to make someone a very fancy mount!
Curly had a strong 2nd place finish in the breakaway and a top 8th finish in a competitive pen of headers in Virden. Curly did his best and was perfect every run, but the last loop with two horns and a leg took us out of it. We are so blessed to have such an amazing horse to ride who works so well for us every time. We are so grateful for getting to futurity him his year.
Iron AC Drift aka Roger has been impressing us for the last month as the main mount at the pasture. This guy helped Braden single man doctor a bull with only 18 rides on him. His run to a cow is second to none and his heart impresses us each time we ride him.
We had a lot of fun trading days cowboying and seeing new country with some great horses.
It’s been great seeing these three fillies progress from some great people. We are thrilled to be starting the next batch from them!
These three fillies really benefited from being worked off horseback first. We like to do this to help build confidence with sensitive young horses and help teach them how to move off pressure from myself and working together with the saddle horse. Not to mention saves you a few steps on the ground. 😂
