Client Spotlight! Francine is a regular at our weekly lessons with her main boy Gunner. This summer we also helped her put the first few rides on her c**t Clipper. With around 15 rides Francine took Clipper to Nipawin and won the Walk Trott High Point! It’s been great watching you grow with your two painted boys.

Client Spotlight! Melanie has been working hard with her horse Leo throughout the spring and summer! We have loved our weekly lessons and watching these two grow throughout the show season! From coming to the pasture and treating cows, winning Junior Horse High Point in Nipawin and some big placings in every show in between it’s been a pleasure helping Mel and Leo reach their goals!

Peter and Kelsie had an amazing time at the Get Back At Er Gymkana put on but the Vanscoy Multiple 4-H Club. It was such a great fundraiser for their club. With such an amazing group of people who were so supportive and welcoming. Thank you to the sponsors of such an amazing buckle!
It was only their second Gymkana together with lots more sure to come!

We had a great weekend at the Touch of Class with Jack Auction Group Sales and Brennin Jack’s great team.
Stephanie Ginter and her family sold an amazing filly we were grateful to start.
Jeremy Buchynski and Kailyn Buchynski had a talented gelding they trusted us to ride and get ready for the sale as well.
He was the reserve high seller at $15,750.
Thanks again for our friends and clients for trusting us with their horses.

TRAINER'S CHALLENGE SPOTLIGHT! Returning CHAMPION

Braden Bernier and his wife Kelsie own a ranch in Red Deer Hill, Saskatchewan, where he trains horses and provides various equine services. Braden grew up in a family where horses had a job and a purpose on the ranch. From a young age he started horses with his mother, father, and grandfather. Later he took a job starting c**ts for a well-respected horseman and horse trainer at the age of 15. It was then he started riding horses for the public. The following years he rode community pasture, started c**ts, and attended horse shoeing school all while finishing high school and achieving his Bachelor of Education degree. After university Braden moved away for a few more years to ride in different country and attend further schooling in Idaho. In Idaho he was fortunate to meet someone who became one of his best friends and helped shape some of his style of horsemanship.

Horses and horsemanship are a large part Braden’s life. Having horses interwoven into his life has instilled an unwavering passion to help horses find their greatest success and talents. His entire focus when working with horses is to ensure horses can take on any task at their best. Getting one confident and willing to demonstrate “try” is Braden’s main goal with the horse. He believes the horse needs to be allowed to search to find the right answer in their own way. Braden takes pride in being a horseman and giving horses a skill set for a productive future no matter their discipline.

In our training process we expose horses to a variety of animals, techniques, and environments… that also includes our working dogs!

Young or old they always keep us on our toes 😂

Ol Roy came to us with a little age on him to get started. We’ll miss this big handsome guy but we are excited to see his future in the roping pen.

Ruger came for a start and is getting to leave with some take out experience as well!

Whisper was such a gentle giant to start this summer !

Really working on body control to help little blue have a strong foundation to build on.

Nice change of colour with this Appaloosa around, this flashy guy headed home last week to its owner ready to ride.

This fancy looking gelding came to us to work on collection and head carriage. We are super happy with how he turned out!

Can’t wait to see what kind of horses Max will sire one day! He was a fun one to start!

With 1.5 hours behind of the rest of the horses Zeus did amazing! He managed to achieve every single obstacle except picking up his feet. From the bridge, tarp, gate, roping the dummy, dragging the log, loping, trotting, serpentine through the poles and loading into the trailer. Zeus accomplished all of this while only being worked for 1.5 hours! We didn’t want to use too much horse up in the finals as we are fortunate enough to get to start him this month at home. Thank you everyone for your support whether in person in Lloyd or from a far. @lloyd_ex thank you so much for putting on such an amazing event and letting us be apart of it.

Zeus’ third session before the finals. Got a quick ten minute ride before ending our sessions. Being 1.5 hours behind the other horses Zeus stepped it up and held it together !

Unfortunately Monty Walsh hurt himself after a great morning session. Before his second session the decision was made that it was in the best interest of the horse to not continue the competition. With two 45 minute sessions behind the rest we got to start a new colt. Zeus has showed a lot of try and we only get one more 45 minute session with him before the finals! Talk about some euro stress!

Day one of the trainers challenge is done and Monty Walsh is sure making us work for it. There are quite a few ‘Bloopers’ that could show you just how expressive this horse is. He’s coming around on the right track, tomorrow will be a fun day!
