Today was a sad day at work as we had to say goodbye to Cher. In her 19th year she was still hunting last summer. She was a working cat at the store and she took her job very seriously, but also loved the cuddles and pets from customers. I'm sure she'll make friends with all the heaven mice (she once stole a baby gopher and tried to mother it🤦‍♀️). Until we meet again on the rainbow bridge Cher 2004-2023💕

We are so utterly saddened by the news of Mr. Braaten's passing. You have probably purchased one of his many handmade products here, such as his beautiful red barn dog houses. He had to quit making them a few years ago as they were getting too heavy for him to move around. I asked if he wanted to sell the plans for them and he laughed, he said there's nothing to sell, it's all in my head! He dropped off some saddle stands to sell right before Christmas. He just liked to keep busy he said, and didn't charge barely anything for his work. Gord was a salt of the earth type of person and the world was a better place for him being in it. We always loved when he and his wife Donna would pop in for fly spray or treats for their animals and would have a visit. Donna, we are very sorry for your loss. Gord is probably building his wonderful dog houses for the puppers who have crossed the rainbow bridge (because we all know he won't be just sitting around!)

It is with great sadness the family of Gordon Reid Braaten, late of Birch Hills, SK announces his passing, surrounded by family on January 5th, 2022, at the age of 87 years.
