✨ FOSTERS NEEDED ✨
4 dogs were saved from a northern community on the weekend.
They were in dire need because of the injuries they sustained from tackling a porcupine as well as seeing that they are extremely underweight. Mom had so many quills in her mouth she could not eat.
This was a tough job for our team as the pups have never had human contact and were quite scared of us. Requiring us to trap 2 out of the 3 pups.
Upon their vet visit the quills were all pulled. The vet was concerned as they are extremely malnourished, and their poor little bodies were in starvation mode 😭. It was stressed quite a bit that they needed water urgently and food as soon as they were awake enough from the sedation to eat. The 3 pups are 7-8 months old and weighed between 20-24 pounds. They should be roughly 40 each! Mom also is 20-30 pounds underweight as well.
They are together for now but are not thriving in their current environment. They need one on one time to come out of their shell learn what love is!
We are desperately looking for fosters so they can continue to heal and get ready for their forever homes! Supplies are provided. All you need to provide is a loving home for them to strive in!
We are intaking 2 of these Doodle puppies born May 1 and looking for fosters! They have had their first set of shots. The Aprioct coloured one is the only male all the white are females! They will need a lot of decomposition time. If you’re interested in fostering please sent us a message!
I just had the pleasure of meeting Stanley the injured foot boy on his way through to Saskatoon. He is soooo sweet even though he has been through so much. Also met a little female pup that is going to her new foster today as well. Two sweet souls onto the next journey in their rescue. Thank you to Jennifer for bringing them down and Amanda for taking care of them until they could be transported. Working together we can save more lives 💕 We will post an update once Stanley gets examined at the vet!
E transfers can be sent to [email protected] to help with vet bills, gas and other expenses! 💕
Thank you for your continued support 🙏
Today we had to make the very tough call to let our girl who we named Bailey go. She was taken to the vet today to figure out what was wrong with her. An x ray was done and it was determined that she was suffering from a broken sublaxated spine. The prognosis was that it was very painful and would get worse as she grew. The best thing that we could do for her was to end her pain and suffering. Decisions like this are never easy and we are thankful that we work with amazing vets that are always honest and caring. We are so sorry that we could not save you Bailey and that we were too late. Things like this weigh heavy on our hearts but we have to continue to be the voice for the ones who cannot speak for themselves.
If love could of saved you, you would of lived forever 💔😭

The unfortunate reality of rescue. Donald 💔💔
The unfortunate reality of rescue.
We have been asked by a community to help this dog. But we didn’t come soon enough and we’re so so sorry.
Donald has been on our waitlist to come into care for the past few months. But with lack of adoptions, lack of fosters, and more urgent cases of animals in need we were unable to bring him into care.
Yesterday Keegan Rodwin recieved a call saying that Donald was having a hard time breathing, as well as some nasal and eye discharge.
Without having a long term plan for him after seeing the vet, we still brought him to the vet. A wonderful family, who tiredly helps out the stray and neglected animals in their community, and notified us of Donald’s condition, offered to take him for us to the vet.
The news was not what we wanted. Donald had a lump on his chest. It had been there for a while. After a chest x ray showed pulmonary nodules throughout both lungs which was a significant sign for progression on cancer.
The kindest thing we could do is bring him peace. 🌈🌈
We are absolutely devastated and heartbroken that we were unable to help you more Donald. You will always have a place in our hearts 🤍🤍🤍🤍
If you would like to make a donation to help us cover Donald’s medical expenses, donations can be made by e transfer to [email protected]
Unfortunately, this will continue until there is a massive change in animal welfare regulations in Saskatchewan. We are in a crisis, and it is only going to get worse. If you would like to know how you can help please send us a message. There is no minimum requirement for help, even if it is transportation assistance in vet appointments, dog walking, anything helps us so so so much.
UPDATE - Owner was located and they are bringing him for treatment to the vet clinic this weekend
