Dr. Kelley worked her magic to repair a significant laceration this week. The owners reported that they were out with their horses when one of the young horses got caught on a stick, resulting in this substantial wound. They brought the horse to us, and Dr. Kelley immediately got to work, cleaning and stitching the wound back together.

Welcoming Dr. Morgan Kelley

Originally from the ranch-lands of Southern Alberta, Dr. Kelley grew up fostering a love for animals alongside her father, Dr. Peter Kelley. Prior to graduating from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, she was enrolled in an Honours Biology Degree at the University of Saskatchewan. She was one field course away from completing the degree before being accepted into vet school.

Throughout her education, Dr. Kelley engaged in various research projects and volunteer efforts, including a health assessment of grey wolves in the Northwest Territories and participation in the Vets Without Borders Northern Initiative. These experiences deepened her appreciation for northern regions and expanded her veterinary expertise.

Dr. Kelley has a particular passion for small animal and equine emergency medicine, equine reproduction, and orthopaedic surgery. She brings a wealth of knowledge to the clinic. Outside of work, she enjoys fly fishing, backpacking, and spending time with her adopted shelter dog, Darla.
