This is from my personal page, so more personal than I would normally post on my business.
First of all, I’d like to thank everybody for all the wonderful birthday wishes yesterday. Secondly, I’m never sure exactly how much to share on social media but I will give a brief update on why will be staying 52 this year instead of becoming 53. Most people know that I was in a horrific MVI in 2010 and sustained horrible injuries, the worst being breaking both my neck and my back. After many surgeries, Physio, etc. I was able to get my life back, and since I began working for myself, I’ve been healthier and happier than ever. A few weeks back I had it large dog on a leash (approximately 90 pounds) and the dog got scared and bolted. Unfortunately, for me, I had the leash wrapped around my hand and wrist multiple times in order to keep him under control, and I knew better than that. When the dog bolted I was pulled to the ground on concrete and dragged a fair distance before the dog stopped. At the time of the incident I knew I was hurt, but I was more concerned with jumping up and getting out of sight, because God forbid I’d be embarrassed. Since the fall, my family had been away visiting Japan, and so I was pushing through to run everything on my own as best I could. I had had a couple of massage appointments as well as Physio, but instead of getting better I was getting worse. About a week ago after Glen returned home, I slipped a little bit, but did not fall down, but ended up with excruciating pain. I went to bed and thought I would feel better in the morning, but that was not the case at all, so the next day around noon, I knew that I had to go into emergency. That was just over a week ago and I’ve been admitted to the hospital ever since and unfortunately, the imaging taken for my back is not good at all. At this point, I’m trying my best to remain positive, however, it looks like the only option at this point will be surgery, and most likely not locally. I’m trying to stay positive because I am in very very good shape, and I have a very full life that I’m desperate to get back to. I know this was kind of a long post, but I just wanted to let people know where I’m at. For this reason, I have decided that my birthday does not count this year because if you have to spend it in the hospital, you shouldn’t have to get older.
Thanks to everyone who’s checked in on me now just taking things one day, and sometimes one hour at a time.💕
