Horseback riding offers a new way to experience this beauty, seperate from hikes or wilderness wandering. Riding, you can let your horse pay attention to the trail, so you can focus on the nature around you, allowing yourself to soak into the experience in a magnified way. Breathe the fresh air, listen to the bird-song and the animals rustling through the undergrowth and chattering away; let your senses take over and allow yourself to completely unwind.

A good snow storm followed up with -24c temperatures Saturday morning leaving Diesel with his thick curly fur quite frosty, though he is comfortably due to his extra thick fur. Wilfried with a regular winter fur looking not quite as frosty.

The horses resting in the forest yesterday, they feel more comfortable with the better footing compared to the ice that is developing in their paddock as the warm spell continues. Its really nice that these horses have options.

Applesauce is built for northern winters, very fury and his thick main keep him warm. On top of the he is the cutest and friendliest horse ever. I am so grateful my friend Nicola from Prince George animal rescue allows my self and our guests the opportunity to fall in love with him. thanks Nicola!!!

As the weather warmed the snow melted on Diesels back forming icicles. He has the thickest fur of the herd with Applesauce second, winter weather is just another day for them.

Though the snow causes a lot of work, it sure makes a beautiful view nonetheless. The horses don’t mind the snow as well, they are just happy to eat their hay.

It’s a winter wonderland out there after a foot of snow this week. I have my work cut out for me to clear snow this weekend for sure

As I finish chores at sunset these three horses patiently waited for a treats, I am sure if they could speak they would say I have nothing else to do anyway so why not wait.

My cat Chester who is around 18 loves winter as for him this is the season for warm fires.

We are so glad Applesauce is able to graze with the herd after months having to stay in his paddock at nights. This is due to the fact the higher energy grass is no longer available so he is able to graze.

With 94 acres of forest, meadows, and bordering on crown land, the El Shaddai Ranch is fully enveloped by nature. Fifteen minutes south on highway 97, it’s also easy to get to.
