Mare Monday!

This week's mare Monday is designated to the young fillies we have kept for the future of our program. If all goes according to plan, these girls will all have a riding/driving career as well as produce some foals down the road :)
Thanks to Tasha Scott for most of these photos!

1. Mirkwood Acres Dante Jenesis- 2022 bay filly. Expected to mature 14.2hh. Jenesis is blessed with a sensible yet sensitive and responsive nature and balanced comfortable gaits.

2. Vanroyal Dokai Juno- 2022 palomino filly. Expected to mature up to 14.2hh. Juno is just beginning her formal training and is taking it in stride. She is naturally capable of collected trot and canter. Juno is a daughter of our mare Lambert Lambert Willow.

3. Cache Phenom Kracklyn- 2023 black filly. Expected to mature 15hh. Kracklyn is gorgeously put together with great feet and legs. She is sensitive, sassy and forward motivated. She is also extremely smart, willing to learn, and do as her person asks.

4. Soul Ridge Taj*Mahal Lucy- 2024 chestnut filly. Expected to mature 15hh. Lucy has a beautiful balance to her conformation with a strong hip and top line. She has great feet, balanced movement, and a friendly, sensible nature. Lucy is out of our mare Pineview Alf Liberty.

5. Soul Ridge Taj*Mahal Limerick- 2024 bay filly. Expected to mature 15.1hh. Limerick has very correct conformation, great feet, and stunning presence. She is outgoing, curious, friendly, intelligent and willing to learn. Limerick is out of our mare, Yvalbe Fablo-ll Siege aka Sophie.

Soul Ridge Xpression Lindy was actually sold back in November but just went to her new home last week. It sounds like this pretty girl is settling in well :)

This is a reference photo of the stallion Woodmont U-Guinness Celtic for the mares who are bred to him for 2025. Unfortunately the only other photos I have of him, he was just a weanling

Mare Monday is coming to an end (for now) with just one more feature week planned.

This week's mare is Woodmont Athelstan Daylite. Daylite is a 2016 black mare standing 16hh. She has a kind and gentle nature that she seems to pass onto her foals. Daylite is greenbroke to ride walk/trot/canter. Her canter is easy to ride and balanced and her trot to-die-for smooth!

Over the years, we have had 3 of Daylite's maternal half sisters in our broodmare band: Woodmont Talisman Xpedia, Woodmont Upper-Class Yasmine, and Dreamsreach Billy StarDancer. They have all been excellent broodmares who have been very fertile, great moms, and have produced offspring who are well put together with very trainable minds.

Daylite is a proven broodmare. Her first foal has even been retained as a herd stallion. She is currently open and we have plans to breed her for a spring 2026 foal.

Soul Ridge Xpression LaMonte, weanling black Canadian c**t, headed off to his new home last weekend. Look forward to continuing to watch him grow and develop in the coming years.

Update: Kwin is lightly started under saddle with approximately 12 short rides mostly walk/trot. She also canters no issues. Turned back out to grow up some more but she won't forget her lessons and her light start :). Lunges well walk, trot, canter.

We're pleased to announce that Klue (Blain Espresso Kalu) has been sold. This young gelding has been blessed with a wonderful temperament and we are confident that his new owner will be able to enjoy him and create a strong bond :)

Huge congratulations to Keily Stewart on her expert training, promotion and then sale of her registered Canadian gelding, Soul Ridge Lamont Flame, who sold for 200 000 American. Flame is out of one of my most special Canadian mares, Hampshire Lane Lawrence Sylvie and is sired by Kecaluku Wilfrid Lamont. Lamont had the most amazing temperament that I absolutely fell in love with. Thank you to Caroline Beam for allowing me to purchase Lamont when I realized how special he was and that I didn't want to part with him. I am pretty excited for my 2 year old stallion prospect, Soul Ridge Gibson Keeper, who is sired by Flame's full brother, Soul Ridge Lamont Gibson.

Mare Monday: Gimlet Rebel Whimsy, is a 2009 black mare standing about 14.3hh. I have been fortunate enough to own 2 of Whimsy's daughters sired by Delavoye Heros Phenom, and I have really liked them both. Some combinations seem to just work well! Whimsy's 2017 daughter, Ember, now lives in Montana. Kracklyn, Whimsy's 2023 daughter, is showing tremendous potential. We also have Whimsy's 2021 daughter here on lease. Ravenstone R-Lightening Isis is expecting her first foal this spring. Whimsy is in foal to Phenom for a full sibling to Ember and Kracklyn and is due June 2025.

Happy 2nd birthday to this black beauty, Kwin. I think it worth noting how different the weather can be from year to year. 2 years ago when she was born, it was -35C and she was lucky to escape severe frost bite. Today, it was 10 degrees!

Happy first birthday to this handsome yearling gelding, Soul Ridge Espresso Lukas. Lukas is available to a good fit home. He is athletic, feely, sensitive, friendly, and willing. He is very well put together with "built to last" conformation. Has been handled regularly since birth and does all the things a yearling should: comes to the gate to be caught, leads and ties well, feet trimmed, up to date on deworming. Lukas is best suited to more competent rider who will enjoy his feely responsiveness and athletic ability.

Mare Monday! LDR Poncho Twilight is a 2007 black mare standing 15.2hh. Twilight is a career broodmare who has consistently produced very correctly put together, well balanced foals. Her sire, Poncho, now a 21 year old gelding, is a much enjoyed pleasure horse who participates in trail riding and working equitation. Twilight is currently in foal to Lambert Lambert Taj*Mahal for a spring 2025 foal. This foal will be a full sibling to Twilight's 2022 palomino filly, Soul Ridge Taj*Mahal Jubilee.

Mare Monday! This week's feature is Courage Amaro Hayakaze. "Kaze" is a 2020 palomino mare standing about 15.2hh. Her dam, Canadream Rubi A-Lucky-Day is a calm, steady, reliable horse for anyone to ride. Her sire, Metistar Taj*Mahal Amaro, is a son of our palomino stallion, Lambert Lambert Taj*Mahal, and is an extremely nice minded and very versatile, proven stallion, who has competed and excelled, in many disciplines. Kaze is currently green broke under saddle walk/trot/canter. She has nice gaits to ride and a steady, straight forward, uncomplicated disposition. She is in foal to Woodmont U-Guinness Celtic with her first foal due spring 2025.

Mare Monday: Lambert Lambert Willow

Willow is a 2009 tested smokey black mare standing about 15.1hh. She was started, and showed a lot of potential, as a 3 year old. Unfortunately her under saddle career was cut short due to an injury before it really began. Thankfully, she is a good quality mare, who is able to contribute as a broodmare. Willow is a calm and easy mare to have around. She has straight legs, and great feet, and is a good momma and an easy breeder. Willow is actually a full sibling to our Palomino stallion, Lambert Lambert Taj*Mahal! How cool is that? Willow is in foal to Litjens Sanday Envy for an end of June 2025 foal. This foal will be a full sibling to her 2024 foal Lantz.
