July is Lost Pet Prevention month.
Lost pets can happen any time, any day, anywhere. Accidental escapes, off leash walks gone rogue, in-my-yard-only cats finally hopped that fence.. anything is possible!
Many lost pet scenarios can be avoided or minimized by small changes in the home, and lost pets can be reunited when they have accurate and up to date forms of identification. The link below has great information on how to keep our pets safe & comfortable!

June 21st is Bring your dog to work day! 🐢
Does your dog go to work with you?
Taking your dog to work is good for not only us, but our pets too! Dogs relieve stress, promote creativity and enhance work/life balance. Not to mention how great the mid-afternoon play sessions or snuggles are!

Share your photos of pups hard at work today! 🐢

This past week, Dr. Mann and assistant Kelsey, had the opportunity to speak with a local Kindergarten class about Veterinary Medicine!
The kids helped our team work out a very important patients case - our stuffed friend Bella was seemingly more tired and less motivated than usual.
After learning how to perform a physical exam, running some bloodwork and doing some x-rays, these bright little minds figured out that our friend Bella is going to have 6 babies! Oh man, what a great discovery for all of these future veterinarians! πŸ˜‰

A morning was well spent with these inquisitive little minds. Many questions about house pets, farm animals, exotic pets, and even dinosaurs were fielded by our fantastic team!

A big thank you goes to the school that invited us out for a talk, we loved seeing you all!
Happy learning kids, we hope to see you in the Veterinary field one day πŸ’“πŸΆπŸΎ

No, this isn't the Easter bunny, but isn't it neat to think this could be how he works!

Handsome Simba came to us when his new owners noticed some peeing problems at home.

Rabbits don't usually get bladder stones, but this little guy gave us all something interesting to look at.

Dr Liukaitis & RVT Danielle took Simba to surgery to remove this large, Easter egg shaped stone from Simbas bladder and his owners report he is recovering well.

Some changes to improve husbandry & diet now that he's in a new home should keep this from reoccurring.

We hope everyone is having a safe Easter holiday!

Meet Kenny Beans! 🐈🐾

Today, Kenny Beans visited Dr. Liukaitis for his annual exam, vaccine boosters, and senior wellness lab work πŸ§ͺ

- During the exam, Dr. Liukaitis listened to Kenny's heart and lungs while conducting a thorough assessment of his entire body.
As Kenny is 11 years old, his body systems undergo changes at a faster rate compared to younger cats. That's why it's crucial for senior pets to be examined by a Veterinarian at least once a year. This way, we can detect subtle changes that may go unnoticed at home! πŸ’•πŸ©Ί

- To make his visit less worrisome, he was able to hide under a Feliway blanket and received 2 tubes of Churu treat as emotional support 😸

- If you believe it's time for your pet's senior exam, don't hesitate to give us a call! ☎️ 250-564-1315

Our Veterinary team look forward to meeting you 🐾
