Pointing dogs will freeze up and "point" as seen here when a bird is nearby. The point should face the direction that the scent is coming from which exactly what's happening here. In this situation the wind was blowing into the wall of trees here just right which caused the wind to pool and move in a spiral carrying the bird scent with it, causing the scent to come from the direction Jager is pointing.
