🐾 This pup hurt his paw and needed stitches—here’s what to do if your pet is injured! 🐾
Accidents can happen in an instant. Whether it’s a cut, limp, or swollen paw, knowing when to seek urgent care can make all the difference in your pet’s recovery.
🚨 Steps to Take If Your Pet is Injured:
✅ Stay calm and assess the injury.
✅ Control bleeding with gentle pressure.
✅ Keep your pet still to prevent further damage.
✅ Seek urgent veterinary care for deep cuts, swelling, or limping.
🐶 How We Helped This Dog:
This pup arrived at i-Care Veterinary Hospital with a deep wound on his rear right paw that needed stitches.
✔ Dr. Erynn Buhr first listened to his heart and lungs to ensure he was stable for sedation.
✔ Because stitching a wound requires absolute stillness, sedation was necessary to allow for safe treatment.
✔ Once sedated, Dr. Buhr checked for additional injuries before proceeding with wound care.
✔ The wound was cleaned, stitched, and bandaged, and pain relief was provided to aid healing.
At i-Care Veterinary Hospital, we provide same-day urgent care appointments for pets with injuries like this. Deep cuts, limping, and swelling shouldn’t wait—this is exactly what urgent care is for!
