Hello! I decided it was time to create a page for my services and treats, that way it was easier to connect with all of you guys!
A little bit about me....
I have been in the vet industry for 6.5 years now, with one of those years being spent working at a vet clinic in Queensland, Australia. I am currently halfway through my education to becoming a Registered Veterinary Technologist and am working on becoming Fear Free Certified as well. I have a huge passion of helping animals (obviously lol) and my desire to enter this field really began on one trip to Mexico. During this trip, I volunteered lots at one of the animal shelters, which was extremely rewarding and eye opening. But it was one particular night, while we were out for dinner, that really had me sold on wanting to get into this profession and help all of these unwanted animals. We were sitting at a table outside, right along the street, when this neglected, homeless dog that was just skin and bones came up to me. You could see the exhausted look in his eyes with the smallest glimmer of hope that I would help him. So that's exactly what I did. I had only just received my dinner, only one or two bites was gone before this dog came up to me, and I gave him the rest of my plate. I know it wasn't much, and at the time it was all I could do, but at least it was something. But that was the moment I knew that I needed to get into this industry, so that I could help more of these animals. So that is exactly what I am doing. Working towards my diploma, so that I can return back to the third world countries and help all of the unwanted and neglected animals. The following year, I actually flew back to Mexico and volunteered at a week long Free Spay and Neuter Clinic for all of the street animals and low income families who normally wouldn't be able to afford sterilizing their pets; to help in limiting the numbers of unwanted pets. Another very rewarding experience for me, just knowing that I was back helping make a small dent in these animals lives.
Right now, my goal is to offer a positive experience for any services offered. So many pets come to the vet clinic extremely stressed, before barely making it through the door! So, right then and there, you already know that a simple nail trim is going to be nothing but traumatic for them. So, my thoughts were, if I can bring the nail trim to them, to their home environment, where they are much more comfortable, then why shouldn't I?! And treats are a must! I will always take things slow, make friends with your pet first, and continue with the treats throughout the nail trim to try to keep the experience as positive as I possibly can!
I also have a love for baking! And will be doing Monthly Orders for Peanut Butter Treats (which is actually a recipe that I got from a shelter in Mexico that we adopted our Daisy girl from! It is an absolute favorite in our house now with our three dogs!) If you are really feeling like spoiling your dog for their birthday or Christmas or for no reason at all (like me!) then I also make pupcakes! Another favorite of my dogs!
