Odd & Unusual 2022

Hi all,

I hope you’re well, and we miss you!!

I’d like to start out by saying, the last 2 years have been a true challenge. With the ever changing, fluid, and even contradictory restrictions that we’ve been facing, to be honest, I began to lose interest in planning, hosting, or even attending events during those times. While I understand restrictions are now basically removed, the fact we only had 6 weeks to plan and properly organize The Odd & Unusual Sale before Easter, it just didn’t feel feasible to do it & still keep my head above water.

Since The Original Odd & Unusual Easter Sale is the largest of its kind in Canada, it requires a lot of advanced planning & organization. It just did not make sense physically, financially, or mentally to plan or host our event this Spring. As such, I regret to inform you that we will not be holding the sale this Easter.

It is both personally sad, and even causes me stress and anxiety to be announcing this today. It just doesn’t make sense in order to keep the integrity of the sale without putting proper planning, marketing and organization into making this event the best that it can be.

I truly hope you understand why we’ve come to this conclusion. Hopefully things are moving in the right direction and we can begin to properly plan for the Thanksgiving Sale. Once we are ready to officially announce that, I will do so with great excitement 🤗 Fingers crossed we are in the process of getting back to some normalcy, so we can start planning and advertising events in advance & not be faced with more restrictions or shut downs.

Here’s to hoping you are all keeping very well and healthy ❤️ I truly look forward to seeing all your wonderful faces 😀 and catching up again in the near future. I’m sure we all have lots to share and catch up on.

Jon's Funny Farm is located in Westlock County AB. We are a & mobile where you can book farm visits by appointment.

We have lots of adorable critters for your viewing & petting pleasure, tons of cuddles 🥰 to go around (from the cute animals☝️hehe 😉. Don’t worry, we keep our 3 sheep distance 🤣) and there are plenty of (can be wethered or neutered at your request) and for your consideration 😀

We also offer delivery or transport services for your critter needs 😄

After many discussions as a crew and deliberation with different parties - auction mart, auctioneers, online services, etc, we have decided that we will not be holding The Original Odd & Unusual Sale this Thanksgiving weekend. We believe it would not be possible to host this event in a fashion that you have all come to know & rely on at this time. These are changing & uncertain times. With all the regulations & protocols still in place, to keep everyone safe, we feel that this event just wouldn’t be the same. Our event is typically quite large & we couldn’t safely handle the numbers we regularly expect. We want to be sure this is a reputable and successful event for ALL parties involved. We will miss our usual (or should I say “Unusual”) Thanksgiving 🦃 party!!

We are sad to be cancelling this sale again, and really hope to be getting together in spring! We will keep you informed. As we have more time to think about and adjust to new expectations, we will work on our new ideas & protocols so that we can host our event in proper fashion, come Easter 🐣 Weekend 2021.

Well as I’m sure you’ve all come to realize, for everyone’s health & safety, we have to pull the plug on our Easter 2020 Tradition. We unfortunately will have to postpone until further notice. Once things begin to turn around, we will do our best to reschedule this sale.

I realize that many of you are in a position, where you have very wonderful animals, and no sales to attend. To assist our faithful consignors, I’m happy to help promote your consignments throughout our network and hopefully connect you with fellow “Odd & Unusual” friends who may be interested in them. If you would like to send me a personal message with pictures and details of your “Odd & Unusual” critters, I will do my best to help spread the word and promote them for you!!
