The horses have made their trek home for the summer.
Remember when calling to book your trail ride, the best time of day is mid morning. Especially on hot days. The horses will not go out when temperatures exceed 30 degrees. This fluctuates with variables (what it feels like out here on the prairies).
Warm days are for you to enjoy at the beach, and us to do farm chores (yippee).

Today this view is sadly blocked by the thick smokes of the north/western forest fires, as we always hope for moisture in all regions during the spring and summer months we are also hopeful this is the view you will see as you sit horse back and ride our trail this weekend!

With clouds coming in the next couple of days it will give this new mare “Buryl” sometime to keep bonding with the heard until shes set to have a busy summer on the trails.
Our very own “Horse Lady” will be seen much more around the ranch again this year making sure Buryl is behaving and up to s***f with trail rides.

This sped up video shows directions from the Lumsden hill! The majority of our visitors come from Regina.
We are located about 1 mile South of Regina Beach.
Take the # 11 then turn onto Hwy 54. Once you get to the 🛑 stop sign in Regina Beach turn left. The ranch is your first right.
A big White House with a Tourette. You can’t miss it!

If you or anyone you know is in west or central Alberta and can help in anyway with livestock evacuation or safety during the terrible wildfires they are experiencing please reach out. There are many rescues up that way you can search out if you’d like to help. We are thinking of all our friends in the industry battling and having the stress to lead not only themselves but their animals to safety.

We are a big hit when it comes to the little ones, and we enjoy having all ages visit us at the ranch.
But there are things to remember.
🐴 Horses are large animals. They do not like screaming/crying, fast movement and we never approach a horse from behind!
We recommend children be at least 8-9 years old before riding (however, size of the child will matter).
On another note 📝 we also have weight limits. 230LBS and we do not allow doubling on the horses.
This is for your safety and comfort as well as for our horses.
We offer lead arounds, when the trail is just a bit much and you’re always welcome to come have a visit and spoil them with a scratch!
Now, here’s to the snow melting…AGAIN and the riding season opening!!

About the only thing we have in common is we’ve been around forever, we have horses, land and we may say the odd cuss word 🫣
