This is our tiniest baby Shorkie thus far! Just over 1 lb now at 8 weeks! She is full of energy, smart as a whistle, faster than lightning, and so full of love, and loves her treats! Dixie will be going to her new home on Sunday. She will be missed very much! Her new owner has found krynonite with this new baby girl. 🌴💖🌴 This is one very special girlie! 🥰

Mi Aloha Shorkies would like to send out a gentle reminder with regard to your Shorkie puppies.

1. Please be mindful when and how long your puppy is outside.
During the Summer: when it is hot out they shouldn't be left out too long, they need access to water to keep them hydrated; don't leave them outside if your not outside with them. Take them in when you go in. It can take seconds for something unexpected and tragic to occur.
During the winter: when it's cold out they will want to go out, do their business, then return inside to the warmth quickly - their paws can freeze quite fast in the extreme cold.
If their paw/paws freeze while outside too long they may not be able to return back inside and you may notice them standing holding their frozen paw up off the snow. Pick them up, carry them inside, and wrap the froze paw in a blanket until it's no longer cold and they are able to walk on it again.
2- 5 mins is max time they should be out when the temperature is extremely cold out.

2. Puppies are very curious about anything and everything - please keep them near you and in your sight 24/7; remember THEY rely on you and are trusting you to help them when they get into trouble and to keep them safe from harm; if you go inside take them with you even if it's for a min...that may be all the time it takes for something unexpected to happen. A puppy sling work awesome for carrying them around with you. 👌

3. Keep cords and such other things up out of their reach as puppies love to chew anything possible while they are teething; make sure they have chew sticks and doggy chew toys, or an old slipper to keep them busy to deter them from chewing on your furniture. DO NOT scold your puppy if it chews/destroys something nice - remember they are still learning and it's your job to ensure everything you want to keep nice is put up and out of reach for your puppy while he is in puppy training.

4. It's important to puppy proof your puppy's surroundings to avoid unforeseen accidents and also to avoid them from getting into what they shouldn't be getting into.

5. Lastly, please keep in touch with us 🤗 - we like to encourage you to remember to send us updated photos of your puppy from time to time - once you are the proud new owner of one of our Mi Aloha Shorkies you become a member of our Aloha puppy family and we love to see and share all your photos on our page, as well, we love to see our puppies as they are growing and we enjoy seeing and knowing how you and your family are enjoying your new puppy 💜🐶🩵
