After calling Regina's 24-hour Vet Care line (306) 761-1449 when my giant mini haus panther decided to have a lick of my garlicy oniony mushroom alfredo, I was advised to call the Pet Poison Helpline to determine if he had ingested enough to have serious problems (like kidney damage). Garlic and onions are toxic to cats, so I called right away and they ran calculations so they could determine next steps. They will give you a case # that you can use to give your vet if they need more specifics, or if you need to call back again you can use that number and they will be able to pull up the case (and you won't get charged for it).

24/7 Animal Poison Control Center for both Pet Owners and Veterinarians. If your dog, cat, or other pet is poisoned, call 800-213-6680.

This little one is the apple of my eye. She was diagnosed with early kidney disease this year, and as that will likely progress over time, I may need to adjust the amount of work I take on so that I can give her all the loving care and attention she deserves. I am lucky that for now her kidney disease is stabilized. As fellow cat lovers, some of whom have also been lucky enough to have a soul pet in their life, I know you'll understand if my availability decreases so I can spend more time with my sweet girl.

Hi Everyone,
I am so excited to let you know I am signed up to learn Pet First Aid on the evening of Monday November 6th at Excalipurr Cat Cafe! I've been waiting for them to offer it again and I can finally take the training (as you can imagine, the spots tend to fill up quite quickly). I thought some of you might want to sign up too (especially with how hard it can be to get in to a vet and the fact that it may literally save an animals life some day). It is also worth noting that some of the proceeds will be donated to SOS Prairie Rescue, so that's another great reason to feel good about taking this training! If you're interested in learning more:

Dear friends and followers, as you may know, I actually cat sit in Davin right across from where the ongoing TNR rescue is. It breaks my heart when I see more kittens dumped there and even more so when I learn that they are suffering needlessly. It is so important for everyone to spay and neuter and be responsible pet owners, and I will continue to donate to initiatives like this which help reduce and prevent suffering of innocent animals. If you are also moved to donate and are able to do so, please do. Fosters are also desperately needed. Thank you to the wonderful people I work and especially rescues and their volunteers for being so kind hearted. It is needed and appreciated.

"No words seem to be enough to convey the loss our community feels right now. I’ve typed this and deleted it a dozen times. Ashley was an inspiration to so many including myself. Not just for her rescue work, but for her authenticity and willingness to share her truth. I related to her in more ways than one. I always appreciated seeing someone who was willing to speak openly and unabashedly about mental health. Rescue will always have a void in the shape of our Youngest Old Cat Lady. Not everyone is as brave or able to share the struggles they endure, please remember that and practice kindness and empathy for all. Let’s honor Ashley’s memory by promising to ‘take care of each other’ like she asked. We are all in this together. 💗"
