Excalipurr Cat Café
Located in the heart of the city, Excalipurr is Regina’s purrveyor of fine specialty coffees and vegetarian fair – served with the finest of feline accompaniment. Cat cafés have two components — a café/restaurant in one area, and a cat salon in the other. Customers can stay on the cafe side, or take their beverages and food over to the other room to hang out with the kitties.
Excalipurr will offer Regina a new style of cafe with delicious food and excellent specialty drinks with the added experience of snuggling an adoptable cat. Excalipurr is honoured to partner with three Saskatchewan based rescues who will provide a bevy of adoptable cats that you can lie around with while you enjoy your latte. A small cover charge will help keep the cats in style. And if you’re smitten by one of our kittens, you can apply to make it official with your new familiar. All cats will be spayed or neutered, and will be up to date on vaccinations. Excalipurr Cat Café is located at 2156 Albert Street, a character building in the Cathedral area of Regina. Chelsey Legendre is a 32-year-old entrepreneur. She has many years experience working with kids and youth in various positions, and experience with women struggling with addiction and the homeless of Regina. Chelsey also has a management background in the coffee industry. She is an avid animal lover and mental health advocate. Giles Steel is Vice-Purresident (Feline Affairs). Giles busted into the back of Excalipurr the very night the lease was signed. He is skilled in survival, tax preparation and the manly art of love. Giles is seeking a more permanent arrangement once he sees Excalipurr launched. He can be reached through Regina Cat Rescue.

Meet Kluane!!!
Kluane has it all and is ready to share her charm with you! Kluane knows the joy of relaxing in a sunbeam to recharge but she also loves some fun running around after a toy.
You can play with her or watch her play on her own but be warned, she may give you a few meows if you are nearby and not giving her pets when she needs them! She is not afraid to ask for attention!
Kluane is ready to be your new best friend and share all her love and playfulness. She may need a few days to settle into her new home especially if there are other cats but once she is comfortable her personality will shine.
She doesn’t play with her fellow foster cats but is polite and respectful of their boundaries. She is more playful than they are and they do not want to play with her so perhaps with the right cat companion she’d play with them but she would also do fine without other cats.
Kluane has seen dogs but has not interacted with them. It is unknown how she’d get along with them. Her foster is unaware of how she is with kids but she has been nothing but a gentle affectionate cat with adults even when she is playing with her favorite toys. Kluane is the sweetest companion willing to provide some entertainment as well! If she sounds like a dream come true, she may be the perfect cat for you.

The stuffed animal adoption night was so fun!!! Everyone got to go into the cat room to pick their kitty, we talked about the adoption process and caring for cats, signed adoption certificates and then decorated bandanas. This group of kiddos were so smart and makes me very hopefully for the future or animal rescue and advocacy!

This gorgeous girl joined us today at the cafe.
Named after the famous Achy Breaky Heart, Billy Rae is a young mama who’s ready to leave her stray life behind for a loving home. She was once someone’s beloved pet and you can tell—she absolutely adores people!

Pumpkin carving night #2!!!!
Highlights from the night other than the amazing pumpkins…..the carver who sang along to the songs, the great conversations and jokes, the kitty snuggles and Ithala’s supervision skills were top notch!

These two are the cutest duo. They’ve become such good buddies since coming to the cafe. Amber and Mack, both looking for forever.
Here is an example of just a few voicemails or phone calls we receive on a daily basis. I can’t imagine what the rescues get.
This isn’t to slam anyone, because I think it’s awesome that people are at least trying to find proper resources to help. It’s to bring awareness to a huge issue in our communities.
This is to remind people that rescues are tired. Rescues are full. Please be responsible pet owners. Please spay and neuter. Adoption should be forever. Its not rescues faults for not having enough resources to help everyone. And that YOU may be the person that can help.
I’ll be posting a list of resources on our website within the week. YOU could be the difference between life and death for an animal.

Regina Cat Rescue (RCR) is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization and registered charity that helps abandoned cats and kittens and educates people about the humane treatment of pets.
RCR’s rescue cats and kittens found on the street, on farms and under abandoned houses and businesses, and provide them with necessary veterinary care such as spay/neuter, identification and vaccination, as well as the rehabilitation necessary for adoption into loving homes.
Regina Cat Rescue is a member organization of the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies.

What is a cat cafe?
Cat cafés have two components — a café/restaurant in one area, and a cat salon in the other. Cats are kept separate from any food service and prep areas. Customers can stay on the cafe side, or take their beverages and food over to the other room to hang out with the kitties.
Can I bring my cat?
No, please don’t bring your cat from home. Although we would love to meet your kitties, we already have kitties at the cafe for you to play and snuggle with.
Where are the cats from?
Excalipurr is partnered with Regina Cat Rescue. All the cats and kittens have been spayed/neutered and are up to date on their vaccinations.
How much does it cost to enter the cat room?
It costs $5 per person for 45 minutes in the cat room.
Do I need to make a reservation?
We suggest to make a reservation for the cat room. We accept walk-ins only upon availability, so if you want to guarantee a spot please call ahead at 306-543-7877. We only take reservations over the phone and keep in mind that we book on the hour.
Are kids allowed in the cat room?
Yes, kids are allowed in the cat room. Here at Excalipurr we ask that any children under the age of 13 years old need to be supervised and accompanied by an adult.
Can I take my drink and food into the cat room?
Yes you can! You are more then welcome to take your food into the cat room as well, but beware of the feline thieves. If you do not want to take your food into the cat room, we ask that you plan it into your visit so that you can enjoy your full 45 minutes in the cat room.
What if I want to adopt?
All the cats at the cafe are up for adoption at the cafe. If you fall in love with one of the cats we can do adoptions on-site at the cafe. Their will be an application form as well as an adoption contract to fill out. The adoption fee is $140 for cats 1 year or older. It is $160 for cats under 1 year.
