Excalipurr Cat Café
Located in the heart of the city, Excalipurr is Regina’s purrveyor of fine specialty coffees and vegetarian fair – served with the finest of feline accompaniment. Cat cafés have two components — a café/restaurant in one area, and a cat salon in the other. Customers can stay on the cafe side, or take their beverages and food over to the other room to hang out with the kitties.

Excalipurr will offer Regina a new style of cafe with delicious food and excellent specialty drinks with the added experience of snuggling an adoptable cat. Excalipurr is honoured to partner with three Saskatchewan based rescues who will provide a bevy of adoptable cats that you can lie around with while you enjoy your latte. A small cover charge will help keep the cats in style. And if you’re smitten by one of our kittens, you can apply to make it official with your new familiar. All cats will be spayed or neutered, and will be up to date on vaccinations. Excalipurr Cat Café is located at 2156 Albert Street, a character building in the Cathedral area of Regina. Chelsey Legendre is a 32-year-old entrepreneur. She has many years experience working with kids and youth in various positions, and experience with women struggling with addiction and the homeless of Regina. Chelsey also has a management background in the coffee industry. She is an avid animal lover and mental health advocate. Giles Steel is Vice-Purresident (Feline Affairs). Giles busted into the back of Excalipurr the very night the lease was signed. He is skilled in survival, tax preparation and the manly art of love. Giles is seeking a more permanent arrangement once he sees Excalipurr launched. He can be reached through Regina Cat Rescue.

I had to explain to Azriel why it was so slow at the cafe all of a sudden! He is happy for everyone that is heading back to school but misses all the attention every day. So if you aren’t busy with school or work come on down, you’ll likely have the whole cat room to yourself.

Don’t forget about all the other small businesses that are going into a very slow time of the year as well!

How cute are these two?! Alphie has been with us since January and Bugs came about a month ago. Bugs brothers all got adopted, so he started looking to Alphie to be his friend. Alphie adopted this little guy right away. You can often times find Alphie grooming Bugs or Bugs following him around the room.

Meet Carol Burnett! This gorgeous fluffy girl was brought into care with her kittens. She was an amazing mom and now they are grown and off to their own homes. She can now enjoy being a kitty herself and find her own forever home.

I am looking to bring on a casual person at the cafe. This would currently be just Fridays (Daytime shifts) but could be other days as well. A flexible and open schedule is a must for this position. Someone who is familiar with the cafe already will be a huge asset. As well as someone who has coffee and cat experience.

🛑 PLEASE READ! 🙏 I have a bit of an ask of you my fellow cat lovers. This sweet guy is Mabua! Mabua has been with us for a few months now, he came with his sister Ithala. They were rescued from a hoarding situation, where they were facing euthanasia. Well this sweet boy has developed a bit of a behavioural problem 😅…he has started peeing outside the box (only sometimes). We got him checked by the vet and he is fine so we know it’s behavioural. My best guess is that he is a little stressed out at times and this is his way of showing it. I am certain that once he finds his own home that this will be resolved completely, we just need to find someone that will give him a chance. Before we are faced with sending him back to a foster home we want to do everything we can to help him find his forever home first. Lastly, we would LOVE if he could stay with his sister Ithala. They play together all the time and think they deserve to stay together forever. I know this is a big ask, but I am hoping with the power of all our cat loving followers and the internet that we can find this duo a perfect home. We will also set up the adoptive family a consultation with Tori from to make sure the transition goes perfectly. So please SHARE, SHARE, SHARE!!!! Let’s find these two a home.

Needy cat people, I have the cat for you! Meet Thor. This little love bug just wants to be held and snuggled. He will follow you around and chirp at you for attention. Curl up on your chest for snuggles and want to be held like a baby.

Coming from a farm property where he was neglected and abused, it’s a surprise to see how loving this little guy is. He is looking for the perfect safe home. Come meet him today.

Our smallest of the cafe crew right now is Astrid. Only 5 months old!

Her former foster had this to say about her…”Named for her divine beauty! This sweet little girl is so loveable and has unique tabby markings. She is smallest of the litter and now the last left to be adopted but that didn’t stop her from being the first to walk and explore. She is developing a quieter side and often liked to sit and snuggle with her mama and watch her siblings play. Now that her siblings are all adopted out she is desperate for someone to play with! Astrid is not a “pick up and cuddle” kind of girl but she is still very affectionate and loving in her own ways. This girl would love a forever home with someone willing to play and give her all the head scratches she requests.”

Meet Sammy. This cutie is about 2 years old and came from a hoarding situation. Had not stepped in and helped, many of these cats would have been euthanized.

Sammy loves other kitties but he’s still learning to trust humans and finding better ways to show us that he’s not ready to hang out. He nibbles a little and might give you a little swat. But we are bound to earn his trust eventually.

What can I say about Mabua!?!?

Well this sweet little guy came to us from with what I believe is his sister Ithala. These two were from a hoarding situation. His eye is what the vets believe could be congenital. I think it just adds to his charm.

Mabua demands affection when he wants it, often ramming his face into me to get kisses and pets. He loves to wrestle with his sister. He can get a little carried away at times but what brother doesn’t. 😆

I would love to see these two get adopted together. But I think they would be okay as long as they had another little friend to grow up with.

When cats come to the cafe, most of them find a place to hide and hunker down for a couple days to adjust to their new space. For Quinn, this was under one of the cat beds. It’s always interesting searching for the new cats at meal times to find there spots and make sure they are okay and eating food. This may mean laying on the ground and sitting with them while they eat! Quinn is more settled now and waiting for his person to come find him.

Gracie update!! Although she’s still a little uncertain she allows me to come close to her quite often now! If I sit on the floor, she often times will make her way over for head scratches. She so badly wants to be loved but who knows what she’s gone through in her past to make her so leery of humans. It’s a daily process of winning her over ❤️

What is cat clicker training?!? Meet Tori from @purrsuasioncattraining! Tori will be holding an event next Thursday April 11th to teach some cat clicker basics. We always have a blast at this event and love seeing how people train their cats at home after! Tickets are available on @eventbrite
