These three cuties came into care in horrible shape.

They were starving to death and had old infected quills.

Fun Fact: Their big brother is Apollo who found a home right away!

They are now around 10-12 months and are not that big!

They have learned what love is and what it is like to have a consistent meal.

Newt
(Wings of Fire)

Gender: Male
DOB/Age: ~10 months
Breed: Shepherd
Kennel Training: zero issues with the kennel. Newt will sleep through the night in his Kennel
House Training: it is a work in progress he will go outside when you take him but if there is loud noises outside sometimes it takes a little extra to get him to come with
Personality: Newt has been through a lot so he can be very shy and scared at times. He takes a little bit to trust you and warm up to you but once he does he is the most gentle soul and loves a good cuddle. Newt has a very goofy and animated personality he loves playing with his sister and foster brother they could play for hours on end. Newt is not a fan of a leash but he is making steps towards the right direction with it. If you’re looking for a gentle giant with a goofy personality Newt is your man. He will do best in a home with a dog friend!

Wren
(Wings of Fire)

Gender: Female
DOB/Age: ~10 months
Breed: Shepherd
Kennel Training; Wren will go in her kennel easily to eat and lie down throughout day when her humans are home. Kennel training when her humans aren't home is a work in progress as she's had someone at home for the majority of her being in care due to her being in recovery. When you leave, she is often vocal at first but will calm down after a few minutes. The longest shes been in kennel while himans were gone is 3 hours.
When it comes to sleeping at night, she'll sleep in kennel if in same room as you. If not, she prefers the floor or cuddling with you in bed.
House Training; since being in care, she's had no accidents. Wren goes outside easily and will whine at door if you haven't taken her out in a while.
Personality: Wren is the most happy-go-lucky, chill gal despite everything she's gone through. She loves you with her whole heart (and tail wag). She's grown so much since being in care, from not knowing what a toy was or how to give kisses to now to wrestling her fosters and giving all the cuddles. While she may be a tripawd, she doesnt let it hold her back, especially from a good game of chase with other dogs. She's also great around kids, especially knowing they tend to give her the most pets. Being in a family with another dog would be good as she loves to play and helps her release her energy.
Wren has had many experiences while being in care to make up for all those she missed during her first life. From camping to boating to watching sports, she loves doing whatever her humans do if it means spending time with them. If she sees you grab the leash, she's right beside you ready to go, often grabbing the leash in her mouth to walk herself.
Having missed out on love the first year of her life, she's all for the pets and cuddles. And if you're not giving her enough or the way she wants, she'll use her voice to sassily tell you.
For those that may be nervous about her having just three legs, don't be. She's able to do all the things a 4-legged dog can. Wren is the sweetest tripawd and will be the most loving companion to her furever family. Her smile and love is contagious. Her life before care may have been tough, but now she's living her best life just being able to be a dog.... and one of the best ones there is.

Kennel Training: Sora has zero issues with the kennel she will sleep through the night but if she does have to go potty she lets you know
House Training: Sora has minimal accidents in the house if she does it’s always caused by a loud noise scaring her
Personality: Sora has come a long way from when she first came into care. She is very adventurous and loving. She is always the first one to check out a situation. She loves getting all the attention and giving all the kisses. She loves playing with other dogs she may be small but she is mighty for her size. She is a work in progress on a leash she is good pet times but she will get moments where she becomes unsure of it. If you’re looking for a fun, loving, goofy girl Sora is the one for you. She would do best in a home with another dog.

Additionally she has a deformed chest, vets believe this is from a previous injury. No issues at this time!

House Training: Good on p*e pads, working on outside!
Personality:
Mayer: Mayer is a little more shy, but a huge goof once he gets to know you. He loves to spend time outside and play with his littermates. He would likely do well with other dogs in the house, or as an only pet. He is very food-motivated and loves snuggles. He briefly met a cat and wasn’t very interested - he would likely learn quickly to leave cats alone.

We are looking for a foster for Medusa!

This girl had puppies in care and now needs to experience life without them!! Her quills have been dealt with so her face looks much better!

She was kept in a garage with the litter and has not ruined anything and also has spent time in the house without ruining anything!

She became very protective over her den and puppies but when in the house with other dogs, she was completely fine. Was also around a cat, she is very mouthey with them, just like she is with her puppies and the foster mom has no concerns.

Also around young kids with no issues!

Breed: Husky/Shepherd Mix
Kennel Training: I don't mind hanging out in the Kennel. I will sleep in it overnight and I go in it when my humans go out.
House Training: I am pretty going outside to potty. I am not quite 100% , I still make a few mistakes but I'm going to blame it on the humans. You see I go to the door when I need to go out and if the humans miss that clue then whoopsy. I have got in habit going out right after I wake up from naps and finish eating.
Personality: I am a little sassy at times and will tell you what I think. If my humans leave things in my reach I will take them and run. It's so much fun when they chase me.
I love playing with my fur brother and also my two fur foster brothers. They are two big guys and when they are wrestling with each other I try and join them.
Oh boy I like playing with toys and making them squeak. I also like to chew on antlers or chew toys.
I love food and treats. When the pantry door opens I get so excited . I'm learning to sit for my treats. Oh I can't forget I like the outdoors. Hanging out and investigating the yard is so much fun.
I'm not a big snuggler but will when I feel like it. I'll also give you a kiss now and then.
I am sooooo looking forward to getting a furever family and being able to have fun and love my forever humans.

This sweet likes her kennel and is basically house trained! She has no problem going outside when asked and might have the odd accident.

Teddy is the last of her litter from our dump puppies. From literally living in a dump with no human contact, we can’t believe how far has come. She is only around 50 pounds!!!

Teddy was posted as a puppy and has literally grown up in care, she will be a year in September! 🫠

She is proudly house and kennel trained and has determined that her kennel is her safe space. She loves to pick a toy and run back to her bed but is totally okay sharing it.

Once she warms up to other dogs, she loves to play! She does love her humans but still takes time to warm up. Having another dog in the house will benefit her as well as older kids. The loudness of young’s kids can be overwhelming.

Then we have an adult event Sunday at Rebellion Brewing!! Times are staggered so each dog as their time under their photo!!

We are going to try and make this a short post about needing a foster for this girl (Update: a current foster found) and the future of the rescue.

We are really sad to announce this but at this point we CANNOT TAKE ON ANYMORE DOGS, NO MATTER WHAT SHAPE THEY ARE IN.

It’s an incredibly hard to decision to make especially when you get calls about dogs in horrendous shape, but it just can’t be our burden anymore.

We unfortunately need to take a step back and re-evaluate the future of this rescue. We need to get some dogs adopted and decide if this is feasible anymore and frankly, if we want to do it anymore. The burnout is real and when we can’t get help in situations like this….is can be just too much.

We just don’t have fosters. Years ago, we could have 80 dogs in care and have it be less stressful than it is now. We know this is a reality for a lot of rescues in most provinces. We have a dog who has been on WAITLIST FOR A YEAR DUE TO NO FOSTERS. We used to be able to bring in medical cases and still bring in dogs off the waitlist. The fact that we can’t find one foster for this girl is incredibly defeating! We have dogs growing up in care and spending over a year being available for adoption… also so defeating.

Please consider adopting or fostering!

1. Please don’t apply for dogs if you are not 100% ready. We get so many applications who don’t respond or cancel.
2. Please don’t apply to foster when you are not ready to foster. We need help now! We will gladly have you join us when you are ready! We are so thankful for our current fosters but it is not fair for them to have back to back fosters with no break or have 2-3 fosters at a time!

Sweet Gertie is still looking for her forever home!

This girl is doing well with her training and is so smart!

She has spent a lot of time with children and loves the attention! She is food motivated and happy to do anything for treats!

(Panda & Gertie)

Gender: Female
DOB: 6/7 months
Breed: Lab Mix
Kennel Training: She loves her kennel and has no problems going to it for naps and while we are away. She sleeps all night without a fuss.
House Training: She is working on asking to go out. She knows her business belongs outside and when let out routinely she goes in the same place consistently, still the odd accident inside but more due to excitement than anything. She is getting better everyday.
Personality: Gertie is the sweetest girl and just loves to cuddle and be with her people. She definitely believes in her heart she will forever be a lap dog if you let her. She gets along very well with dogs. Unsure of cats but she is respectful of boundaries so I don’t foresee that an issue. She loves to play outside and in water! If she can splash in a tub of water she is one happy girl. She can be a bit shy at first but doesn’t take long to warm up. Lots of energy to play but settles quick with the energy around her. Gertie loves kids and will sit for pets and is very gentle.
Overall she is a well rounded pup full of funny quarks and the most love. She is attentive and listens to correction and will do anything for treats. Very food motivated.

Kennel Training: It’s not my favourite place but I will go in no problem. I have hung out in it during the day when the humans go out. I will sleep in it overnight but will whine a little.
House Training: I’m fully house trained. I go to the door when I need to go out. If you take me out before I go to bed I can usually make it through the night. If I can’t make it I will whine
Personality: My name is Koa and that means warrior in Hawaii. I had to be a warrior when I first came into care I got Parvovirus and pulled through. Im all good now in fact I better than good I’m Super. I love to play chase with my fur sister and my too big fur foster brothers. If you walk by me I really like to have my belly rubbed. I will cuddle close to you and like to give kisses and I’ll kiss you back.
I like playing outside and I love water, hanging out in the kiddy pool or better yet swimming in the big pool. I like to chew play with all my toys especially squeaking them and chew on antlers.
I have been going for very short walks and learning how to sit for those yummy treats. I love to go for car rides.
I can’t wait to find my fur-ever family so I can give you love and have fun with you.

URGENT FOSTER PLACEMENT NEEDED!

We had this sweet mama join the rescue with her puppies and now that she’s done feeding and raising pups she’s ready to head off to a foster on her own to get ready for adoption. She needs to recover, be spayed and fully vetted, and then she’s good to be posted.

From litter foster: Lilo is very friendly with kids and adults. It took her awhile to warm up with our 3 dogs but now is very playful and friendly with them. She loves to be pet and attention to her.

She does not like to be confined in closed areas and she needs a fenced in yard or be on a leash when outdoors/supervised in a yard)).

Chicken and Nuggets are brother and sister who are STILL looking for their forever homes.

NEITHER have any interested and it makes us so sad.
