Have updated our prospective home application. At this time, there are no breeding plans until late 2025, however inquiries are always welcome. Keypoint only produces 1-2 litters a year, so there is usually a 9 to 12 month wait ( or longer) for our puppies!

⭐️Choosing a girl or boy puppy: (ALL BREEDS)
Is there a big difference between a male and female? YES
Male vs. Female
Is a male or female a better pet for you and your family?
It’s not uncommon for people to believe that a female dog will make a better pet. We get a lot of calls for people wanting that “special little girl”. For whatever reason, they don’t think that females will exhibit “alpha” behaviors like hu***ng and/or marking. A lot of people think that females are more passive and friendly and that they don’t take part in fighting over dominance, which could NOT be farther from the truth. If you check out the structure of dog packs, the females determine the pecking order and rule the roost. The result of that behavior is that the females become more stubborn, independent, and territorial than the males. These females are much more intent on exercising their control by participating in “alpha” behavior. Most fighting will usually break out between two females. You need to understand alpha behavior and also to BE THE ALPHA, no matter if you have a boy or girl.
Males tend to be more affectionate, exuberant, attentive, and even more demanding of attention. The males are very attached to their owners, tending to be more dedicated, reliable, and less temperamental. They are more sociable, more accepting of other pets, playful for years, and take quicker to children. Most boys are easily motivated by treats/food and words of praise and are so eager to please that training actually becomes easier. Their playful nature, however, can make males more easily distracted. The boys are more likely to act silly and more puppy-like, always wanting to play games, no matter what their age. The boys are fun-loving until the day they die, whereas girls tend to be more standoffish, regal & dignified, the older they get.
Neutered males rarely exhibit secondary sexual behavior such as marking and lifting their legs or hu***ng. Once the testosterone levels recede after neutering, some if not most of these behaviors will lessen significantly or even disappear completely. Boys who were neutered early (by 5mths old) usually don’t ever raise their leg to urinate. However, early spay/neuter is NOT recommended for many reasons! Please do your research on this very important subject

Rip also had a great weekend using his nose! On Sunday, he qualified in Excellent interiors to finish off his CKC Scent Detection Excellent ( SDE) title! This is his 20th title!!! This handsome boy loves to do things, and I love how easily he switches from show dog to sport dog! He has one show left for the year and a weekend of rally trials in December. Didn't plan on him having such a busy year, but he just kept meeting all the goals I set for him and then some!

Exciting news to share! Our Scrabble earned 2 new titles on the weekend! Her Scent Detection Instinct on Saturday and her Novice Title on Sunday!! By earning her Novice Title she is the first springer spaniel in Canada to earn the Grand Champion Excellent title ( under the new award requirements)

This amazing dog has accomplished so much and made so many dreams come true!
She is now formally going to be known as

Although not known to be the "sportiest" member of the family, her sport titles ARE adding up! 😉
