Burritt farrier services is officially closing island shop as of June 25th. I am fully booked with absolutely no openings.
Thank you Vancouver Island for the decades of horse culture and good times, you’ll be missed.
The next chapter begins as of July 4th in our new stomping grounds of Saskatchewan!
I look forward to many more years serving a different horse community and look forward to the next phase of my career. ❤️😊👍

Exciting news! Heather O'Brien is the new instructor for KPU's Certificate in Farrier Science program, taking over from Gerard Laverty after his 21-year tenure.

Heather, a KPU alumna who has been working professionally as a farrier since 1982, is thrilled to lead the program. She’s passionate about teaching students the skills of the farrier trade to meet the needs of horses and their owners in various disciplines.

Heather's journey with KPU began in 2014 as a substitute instructor. She aims to maintain the high standards set by Gerard and prepare students for successful careers.

Good read

✨️WE NEED YOUR HELP!✨️

There is a public appetite for the inclusion of a cross-rail division at VIHJA sanctioned shows and we would love to be able to offer this to our members!

In order to do so, we will need to achieve the following objectives:

✨️Secure sponsorships.
✨️The provision of a Horse Council BC insured judge.
✨️Staffing an additional ring with in-gate and jump crew.
✨️Sufficient jumps and equipment.
✨️A limited period of engagement to accommodate the need for extra stabling.
✨️Sufficient public interest.
✨️Public feedback on this topic by no later than March 12th, 2024.
