Back in the ring!
After 20 long years of being away from lessons and competing , I have decided to get back to my happy place. Back in the ring!
I have taken the last 20 years off and dedicated it to rehabilitating horses. It has been a beautiful journey that has taught me so much. My husband and I together for the past 10 years have changed the lives of many horses and their owners. Taking physically and mentally broken horses and mending them has been an amazing experience that neither one of us would trade for the world.
We have taken in boarders over the years as well that were wanting to learn our ways of horse keeping and training and loved every minute of it. Unfortunately, we have decided to shut down the boarding facility and have hung up our rehab hats so I can get back to why I fell in love with horse world to begin with. I was given a choice due to medical reasons, either I ride or I work the facility, I cannot do both. It is way to hard on my body. So after a lot of thinking and tears I decided I want to get back in the saddle full time. I want to continue my dreams. Dressage is my passion and I have the competition bug, always have , always will.
This time around things will be very different. I now know horses can and will excel barefoot in and out of the show ring, I now know that their diet doesn't have to be full of sugar and starches to keep up energy levels or their weight. I now know that my horses will tell me when something hurts and I now know how to fix it without band aid fixes. I now know how important tack fit is and that horses can be ‘on the bit’ without a bit.
