The BC SPCA is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia.

Departed pet brought into shelter: Female brown and white tabby cat, domestic short hair, estimated young adult. White "ankle socks" on three feet, only white toes on the back left foot. Small white bib under her chin, and white stripe on her stomach that extends from between the front legs to the back legs. Found near Steveston Highway and Palmberg Road.

We need your help! As the weather gets warmer, we are looking for some items that would help our small animals remain comfortable. We are looking for plug timers for our rooms that have portable air conditioners, as well as heating pads for our reptiles. This will ensure our animals don’t get too hot or cold throughout the night time. If you these items lying around or are feeling generous, you can drop off at our shelter located at 12071 No. 5 Rd!

Can't drop off in person? No worries! You can order through Amazon and have it delivered right to our branch.

We need your help! Our larger dogs often struggle to eat from bowls placed on the ground. If you have any Ikea bed trays or similar items to donate, they would be incredibly helpful for us. These trays work wonderfully to elevate their bowls and make mealtime more comfortable for them.

We wanted to share an update: Rescue operations for the remaining dog are still ongoing. Please avoid disturbing the fencing, food/water areas, and refrain from entering restricted zones. Since we've had fewer sightings, community support is crucial. If you spot the dog, please contact us at 604-709-4668. Please also help by sharing this information and paying attention to posted signs. Thank you!

⚠️Dear residents, please note that the City of Richmond has temporarily closed select trails in Garden City Park until further notice. The closure is part of a strategy to rescue two dogs that remain at large in the park. Until further notice, barricades and signs will be in place limiting access to the eastern sections.

👉It is important for all members of the public to adhere to public signage and directions provided by City and BC SPCA staff, including:
• Staying out of the closed park areas
• Maintaining a safe distance from the dogs if sighted
• Reporting sightings to 604-709-4668
• Refraining from feeding the dogs or leaving food in the area
• Not approaching or attempting to leash the dogs

Bowie and Lucy

We have a superstar at our centre! 🤩 His name is Bowie and has been bringing our fearful dogs out of their shells. 🥰 He makes them feel so safe, helps them to gain confidence and has such a great time doing it. 💪 Our sweet girl, Lucy, was left tied to a fence at our centre about a week ago. She has been fearful of people but when she saw Bowie she got so excited. We haven't seen her this confident and comfortable before. Bowie is showing her she can trust people again. ❤ Although Bowie loves helping his friends here, he really wants to find his forever home.
